Hopkins is ED, not EA.
Are you absolutely in love with the school? Do you see yourself there? Are you sure you can afford it if you get in ED and they stiff you on aid?
If yes, then ED. If no, then RD.
I really like Hopkins, but I am not willing to fully commit unless I need to for acceptance. Please help me decide if I should apply EA or RD.

“Are you sure you can afford it if you get in ED and they stiff you on aid?”
Not a problem, you can decline the ED offer if the aid is insufficient.
@vonlost
To what extent can I claim that the aid is insufficient?

There’s no extent. From the ED agreement (https://professionals.collegeboard.org/guidance/applications/ethics):
“Should a student who applies for financial aid not be offered an award that makes attendance possible, the student may decline the offer of admission and be released from the Early Decision commitment.”
If Hopkins is not your #1 , do not apply binding ED.
You can run the NPC to see your expected aid. If that is unaffordable to your family, then you know not to apply ED.
fyi, The ED application deadline was last Nov. 15
What are my chances getting in through Regular Decision?
Is your father alive? If so, his income will be used for determining aid.
Are you a junior?
What is your career goal and major?
Yes, Junior
Chemical Engineering
Your posts are confusing. In another thread you said that you’ve interviewed for Banneker scholarship.
Will your dad help pay for college? If so, how much will he pay? Does he have a good income?
So if you’re a junior, are you saying that you took 8 APs during your frosh and soph years??
Something is not lining up with your posts. How do you have an AP English 11 score?
Don’t play games with your posts. People respond because we are trying to help. Posting conflicting information is confusing at best.
yep. you say you are a junior, yet, you also say that you were 4 year Varsity tennis team player, captain senior year. Goodbye.
i think the guy means that he got a 5 on the AP Lang or Lit exam he took in 11th grade

@ja312608 If he’s a junior, he’s not taking that test until this coming May, so he can’t have a score yet.
