Chance me for Johns Hopkins!!!

Hi, so I'm a white male from central Ohio. My school has a rating of excellent according to the US Department of Education. Johns Hopkins is one of my top choices for school, so I would love for anyone to tell me if it is possible for me to get in. I work part time as a lifeguard, but only during the summer. Everything that is in bold, is what I focus on and spend the most time on.

Obviously, it would help if you could get your SAT up a little.

My son raised his score 100 points the second time, with zero studying, so mere familiarity with the exam will help. However, I would study hard for it. I recommend an organized prep course, because while you can do it on your own, your probably won’t.

Also, I would stress your best ECs, and not mention every single one.

It is my understanding that colleges want to see one or two passions, and not a long list of ECs.

You have so many that they tend to detract from your best ECs, which is in the area of swimming.

All that being said, it is very hard to get into Hopkins. My kid got waitlisted, with better stats than yours, but not much in the way of ECs.

Their acceptance rate is only 20%, so that means that if your are not a URM, a legacy, or a LaCrosse player, that YOUR acceptance rate is probably lower than that.

My son and I both loved Johns Hopkins when we visited, so I wish you luck.
