4.8 GPA on a 5.0 scale(I believe this would make me a 3.8 in IU's eyes?)
29.5 superscored ACT which I think rounds up to a 30
White/Asian student
No financial issues
I believe I barely make the cusp, is this enough to get me in as a DA? I can provide more info such as clubs, work experience, volunteering, and what not if needed.
They would just convert your high school GPA to a 4 point scale. I think you just subtract 1 to go from a 5 point to 4 point scale, so you would have a 3.8. I’m not completely sure on that though, and I would email the admissions office to check.
Also a 29.5 does round up to 30 on the ACT. If you do in fact have a 3.8 GPA on a 4 point scale, you will definitely be directly admitted assuming you get into the university (you will). Test scores and GPA are the only things that matter for being offered direct admission.
@iubaccounting Thanks! I’m definitely calling IU on Monday but I wanted to get an idea of what to expect when calling.
So as far as Kelley goes, if you meet the GPA and ACT, you’re in? I feel like a lot more people would apply to kelley than what they let in as DAs. Maybe I’m just over-assuming how many people apply, but certainly more than 1500 apply per year? How do they decide whos a DA and whos not?
Yes. If you have the SAT/ACT score and GPA, you are automatically a DA. A lot of people get into the university with scores lower than the requirements, and some people are offered DA and choose to attend a different school. Read #2
So IU does round .5 ACTs up? Some colleges only round .75s superscores and others dont round at all. I can’t find anything about IU and I have to wait until monday to call the admissions office, but I’d love an unofficial response to put my mind at ease!
