Chance me for LACs and a few universities? (will chance back)

I don’t know some of these schools, but from what I do know:

LACs:
Carleton College - high match
Pomona College - reach
Grinnell College - match
Oberlin College - high match?
Beloit College - safety
Rhodes College - pretty safe, I think

Universities:
UChicago - reach (don’t send them your SAT IIs!!!)
Tulane - low match
Dartmouth - high reach
Georgetown - reach
Emory - low reach

Vassar - high match

I think it all depends on your essays/etc and whether or not you apply early…these are all schools that will look at your application holistically, and there are definitely some really strong parts of your app. And the upward trend is great.

Hey, thanks for chancing. Just wondering, would it be pointless to even send my US History SAT II (740)?

What is everyone talking about? The ACT is in the mid50 for most schools, if not significantly higher.

@isaiahstock, that’s a common theme here. For whatever reason that I still don’t know posters are very hard on SAT Scores, even when they fall into the middle 50% of the school. Essentially, posters seem to think an average student at universities is all URMs, Legacies, recruits, etc. this scores is fine for pretty much all schools the op applies to but CC scrutinizes SATs harshly.

Thanks isaiahstock and Divy1234, I guess if it was higher, then my odds would be that much better, but frankly, I don’t want to retake the ACT… I also don’t like the SAT Subject Tests because people who have the time/money can easily get very high scores (as with the SAT/ACT), so I figure if I can get 99th percentile without studying, I should be grateful that a meaningless puts me in good standing with lots of great schools. Some of my smartest friends get no higher than a 27, but they’re still excellent students who would be a great member of any college community.

Yeah standardized tests are kind of dumb. Haha. I would say that of you fall in the averag or 25-75th percentiles (a 32+ and 2100+) of the school your scores are fine and you do for all schools. If you get rejected the scores will not be the reason.

I guess that’s good… LOL

bumppppppp

Just got my AP Scores, if they make a difference.
APUSH - 5
Lang - 5
Spanish - 5 (don’t know how i pulled that off)
Comp Sci - 4

I would send the 740 to uchicago. Oh and I would recommend looking at bowdoin
