Well, I see you have good chances at Connecticut College ED…your EC’s are quite good…being an IB diploma student helps…

What is your expected financial contribution from your family towards your education? That determines a lot since you’re an international.

family contribution is app 45% for conncoll

Your IB grades are really good and I think that US school really like IB candidates. It probably also helps your chances that you are international.

I also did EF Paris summer 08 and loved it. It was the most amazing time.

Does 45% mean approximately $23000???

yes it means around 25000 for education plus allowance and transport.
oh really? that’s great! i really improved my french there and people were good as well. does such thing help in admission process?

anyone else pretty please? do i have good chances at ED?

Not an expert, but I think those stats are good enough for a shot even at the ivies  Should be enough for LACs.

although im looking for FA?
not interested in vies coz i believe it’s easier to get good recommendations and academics at small lacs for afterwards to apply to law schools.

bump bump
anyone else? pretty please?

you have good stats and should get into a good percentage of those schools. i see no problem getting into conn college. if your intersted in international business, try brandeis. they are starting a business program in the fall of 2010 and have one of (probably the best) international business masters program in the US.

thank you 2010, i really hope i’ll get into conncoll coz it’s my dream college.
but you think my chances are that good since im lookin for FA?

Hmmm sorry I really don’t know IB’s that well but your stats seem pretty good… you should get into most of these schools.

If you’re not sending stats:
Connecticut College ED - low reach (ED helps a ton)
Bates - reach
Bennington - low match
Bowdoin - serious reach
Hamilton - ?
Mount Holyoke - match
Union - ?
St Lawrence University - ?

thank you guys, especially to MissPickwickian coz i got too confident.

I have to agree, you have a good shot at Mt. Holyoke. The others:
Connecticut College ED - if you do ed, you have an ok shot.
Bates - This will be a reach.
Bennington - Less of a reach than bates.
Bowdoin - This is the most “reach” you’ve putdown (I.E the hardest for you to get in to)
Hamilton -
Union -
St Lawrence University
^I don’t know much about those.

I personally think it’s an in for Bennington!

Okay I updated my college list so chance me for those:

Connecticut College ED
Bates
Hamilton
Mount Holyoke
St Lawrence University
Brandeis Uni

you have a pretty good chance at all of the above the only thing that is against you is FA(in my opinion im not sure) but still pretty competetive

yea US schools love IB…i think Conn. College you have more than a decent shot esp. considering your long list of ECs and high class rank.

i think you’ll definately get into conn college ED ! so i dont think il chance you for the rest ;]

i honestly think you’ll get in ed so dont worry about the rest. best of luck!
