Chance me for Lehigh?

I think Lehigh is my only "reach" school Im applying to, along with Tulane so if you could tell me chances that would be great

Basically my GPA is 4.0+ weighted, probably 3.7-3.8 unweighted
Ranked top 5% in class (12/486)
Very rigorous schedule, senior Schedule:
AP Calculus
AP Biology
AP Physics
AP English
AP Psychology
Honors Spanish V

And here comes the part that kills me:
SAT 1810 (620 M, 590R, 600W)
SAT II: 680 Chemistry, 670 US History
ACT: 28 (32M, 29R, 26W, 26S)
Will be retaking ACT and SAT in December, Im sure I'll score better on the ACT since I took the test with little to no preparation and had to literally guess in ten science questions since time ran out along with five in reading

Extracurricular:
Kid to Kid 9th Grade-(Drug and Alcohol Awareness Group)
National Junior Honor Society
National Honor Society
Football- (9-10)
District Champions, State Semifinalists
Track-(9-10)
2nd at Districts
Future Business Leaders of America-(3rd at Regionals), (10-12)
Science Olympiad-(11-12/2nd at regionals) Senior Captain
Academic Challenge Team-(2nd at states) Co-captain
Spanish Club-(11-12)
World Quest (11th Grade, 1st at Regionals, Junior Captain)

Volunteer/Service Work:
Volunteering at local hospital

Honors and Awards:
Top ten percent award
High Honor Roll (9-12)

I need money since my parents are unable to afford anything really, with having to put six kids through college, I believe the EFC is around 1.5 grand
I am of minority status if that helps

I applied to an array of colleges such as Tulane, Michigan State, George Mason, Temple, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Duquesne
My residence is in PA

i have a friend with ur similar stats who got in with some money. he did have a 2100 SAT tho, so get those up!

Yeah if it were not for my standardized test scores I think I would have a much better chance in getting accepted, but as for not they are my downfall, is Lehigh big on minorities?

i honestly dont know. the little information i know is about how my friend did.

why not just get them up alot in december. study a ton, take a bunch of practice tests, and get those scores up. if you get around a 2000 or something im sure they will take you within a heartbeat

I think you will get in at Tulane anyway, but it will cost you merit money unless you get the scores up. Probably the same story at most of the other schools that offer automatic merit consideration.

Im sure I get my ACT score up two points but if I apply now will Lehigh see this, and do they accept a superscore of ACT similar to that of SAT? As for the SAT I do not know if I could score higher unless I prepare intensely for it

Bump will chance back

You can get into both, but your SAT score is the only downside, especially the reading part. Make sure you practice your critical reading. Focus on one EC as a passion so that you stand out amongst the crowd.

Thanks for the info! Now can someone also chance me for Temple Honors, Duquesne Honors, or even Michigan State Honors? Could I get into any one of these? I think most likely what is going to happen is I attend Temple, even though I much prefer to attend Lehigh or Tulane

I can only speak for Tulane and Lehigh. Your SATs are the weak spot of your app, so the higher the score, the better basically. Essays can compensate for this, but you are def in the running. Good luck :)

I would retake the SATs if I were you. You’re definitely a solid applicant, but it couldn’t hurt to raise your scores, especially for Lehigh and Tulane.

Yeah I did note that I was retaking the ACTs and SATs in December in hopes of scholarships and acceptances, that is why I am reluctant to apply to Lehigh at the moment. Thanks for the input!

Bump, will chance back if link provided

You are definetly qualified for Lehigh, you might want to retake your SATs though. Out of all these schools you’ve listed I’d consider PITT more. My cousins the athletic director there and its really a fantastic school with unbelievably happy students.

I wont lie and say your sats are great… but they are up there… since your a minority thatll help… I truly think you have a high chance… if you repeat your ACT and SAT a significant increase of 100 points or 2 points will almost ensure your chances…

good luck!

I would say it is a slight reach. chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1033113-chance-me-ill-chance-you-back.html

Your cousin is Steve Pederson?

Thanks for the comments! Bump will chance back

I wouldn’t call Lehigh a reach, probably a high match if not a match. Tulane is a low match. Good Luck and thanks!

Tulane is a low match. Lehigh will be a match if you get that ACT up to 31+. Good luck!
