My overall unweighted gpa without any senior year classes is a 3.45 (counting Physical education/health/geography/ aka required requisites at my school)
My weighted overall gpa is around a 3.8

I also considered weighing my gpa without pe, health, geography, and also only counting grades 10, 11, and an prediction of first semester 12 grade grades (going hard to get all As this final semester)
weighted gpa: 4.2-4.42
unweighted would be around 3.75

also, how much of a factor do essays or letters of recommendation count? Thanks.

@tomofboston, I have looked at that, thank you for referencing it. I am not sure what it means A- average grades. I got Mostly As, and a few Bs in my science and math classes. If you want I can give you more specifics on my grades. Does the higher act score account for the lower grades?

@FatherSAT McGill is quite fussy over each of its admission minimas being met. Unlike US schools, they do not have a holistic process where a stellar part of your application can make up for a lackluster one.

If one of your grades is below the requirements, you may have a hard time getting in.

Don’t worry about it man. I got in with way way ■■■■■■■■ grades and scores than you. Here’s a tip, the Arts faculty is way easier to get into than science or management. Just make sure to have at least one application to arts and you will most likely be accepted.

Since the admissions minima are higher for science, your application would be reevaluated. Otherwise you would have to transfer internally after first year, if your GPA is high enough.

Almost certain you are going to get in if you get high first semester senior year grades…
Apply to both Arts and Sciences. Chances are you will accepted to Arts right away and then later on for Science.

I applied to last year (US student) so feel free to ask me any questions!
