I'm a senior who will be applying this fall for management at McGill

GPA weighted: 4.1
GPA unweighted: 3.4
SAT I: 1870 (Reading 690, Math 590, Writing 590)
SAT II: Litterature 640, Math 500, Spanish 790

By the end of senior year I will have taken 9 AP courses (French, English Lang, US History, Psychology, Statistics, Macroeconomics, Government, Litterature, Environmental Studies). I also expect my GPA to go up this year to around 3.5-3.7 unweighted. I will also retake my SAT I & II so those scores will improve as well, and I will take my ACT in September.

McGill is really my dream school, please help me figure out my chances! Thank you!!!!

Here’s what you need to do to lower the height of the reach: either take the ACT and make sure you have at least 26 on each ACT subscore (29+ composite) or retake the SAT and make sure you have 650+ on each subscore. And, of course, put your act together in the classroom. Please take note that McGill’s financial aid sucks, too.

I hope you can have better matches and safeties for management since McGill Desautels sucks, compared to other B-schools of comparable prestige. But if you want to attend McGill anyway and you’re willing to transfer, get 3.5+ in college and B or better in both single-variable calculus courses (McGill prefers sophomore-level transfers because the in-province students start out as U1s rather than U0s, sophomore-level transfers usually go through the same motions as in-province students) and then you can stand a chance in transfer admissions.

Thank you! But do you think I may have any chances of getting in? Of course I do have other safeties, I’ll also apply to Concordia in case I don’t get in, but McGill is really my goal.

What do you mean by low match? I’m sorry, I’m not really understanding you. I’ll go to Concordia if I have to, if I don’t get in to McGill, I don’t think I’ll transfer, but I’d like to know if there are any chances that I might make it into McGill
