Hi, my parents did not go to college and my siblings were no help since they all lived far away. So I kind of messed up high school. Anyway, here are the stats.
-SAT - 1900
Intended Major - Economics
Race: White (I’m Middle Eastern Though)
-Unweighted GPA - 3.9
-Weighted GPA - 4.05 – (these are 10-11 GPA)
AP Classes
World History = 5
Chemistry = 3
AP English Lang = 4
Senior Schedule
AP Physics 1
AP Government and Economics

Extracurriculars
Online business - 1500 hours. This really changed me the most and while I don’t make much, it peaked my interest in finance, economics, and the such. The income isn’t measly, but I’m not exactly balling in cash.
Went to a language school for my native language. This was really hard because I had to take the national test of that country (kind of like the SAT of the US).
FBLA ~ 25 hours. Did this for two years, wasn’t really interesting as everything seemed formulaic.
Volunteered at local mosque - 300 hours. We had service every thursday night and I always helped out the kids read the Quran and learn my native language. I also gave speeches and stuff during important holidays.

Can you chance me for these schools?
UC Davis
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC Irvine
UC Riverside
UC Merced

Why not try UCB or UCLA? Is the weighted GPA for 10-11 fully weighted? Or capped weighted?
Hi,
I feel like Berkeley and LA are way too prestigious given my SAT scores and my lack of income on the business. I feel like they’re going to think I just wasted all those hours on nothing; where in reality, I didn’t have any of startup money. So I was limited in what I could do. I’m also going to try sales this year because my acne is clearing up and I no longer look like some teenager (ironic huh?). I hate saying this because it makes me look like I brag, but I’m at around ~$1000/per month.
I’m sorry, but I don’t know what you mean by capped weighted. I threw in my transcript in this calculator:
http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
@retraction yeah, the GPA you get from that calculator is capped weighted IF you did it correctly. Personally, I don’t see where you “messed up” in high school. You did great. I have a capped weighted UC GPA of 3.95 and a fully weighted of 4.14 (the one UCB and UCLA use), and I’m applying to both (granted, my SAT score is 2210 and I am retaking that along with my first sitting of the ACT). In my opinion, if you get your SAT score to 2000+ (slightly higher?) you’d have a decent shot at UCB and UCLA. Apply and see what happens.
UCM: Safety
UCR/UCSC: Match
UCD/UCI/UCSB: High Match
Agree with above posters if you want to apply to a few reaches, include UCLA/UCB. I would drop UCM since if you are ELC eligible, you will be offerred admission if you are not accepted to any of the other UC’s. Good Luck.
Thanks for the answers.
I will think about applying to UCB and UCLA but I also have weak classes like French 2 and Pre-Calculus Honors as a senior. All my friends are in like AP Calculus BC and AP Spanish or whatever.
Other answers appreciated, thanks.
