Chance me for Middlebury ED Round II Please!!

If I don't get into Vassar ED round 1, I intend to apply to Middlebury because its AWESOME haha. I visited and its now my second choice. Im a white male from upstate NY. My 3 AP's are all that my school offers...

My Info:

30-31 ACT composite

Freshman year (Terrible): 83 GPA- accelerated spanish and normal classes, GPA mostly killed by an architectural drawing elective...FML haha why was I so immature!!!
EC's: mock trial and varsity track

Sophomore year: 90.8 GPA w/ accelerated spanish, college credit computer applications, AP global history, geometry, Earth Science with lab, English 10,
EC's: mock trial, community service club, trivia club, varsity track, school newspaper

Junior Year (present) 93/94 GPA- AP English Language and Composition, college level spanish/sociology/environmental science/us history
EC's: mock trial (President), community service club, yearbook, trivia club, school newspaper (Editor), Future Business Leaders of America, STARTED SPEECH AND DEBATE CLUB and became president, maybe varsity track...

(Over the summer I will take precalculus at a local community college to reach the highest math at my school senior year, college credit honors calculus, OR I will self study and pass the final in August if I can not afford the class at the college)

Senior Year: aiming for a 96 or above gpa, Ap English, college credit calculus, physics w/ lab, college government, college Spanish 6, and college level business.
Same exact EC's as junior year, but with more officer positions in clubs.

Do you think I have a shot or did my freshman year kill it for me? Thanks for any help! By the way, I want to double major in English and Economics. Thanks so much!!!

Don’t take anything I say too seriously in heart, but here’s my honest opinion

If you don’t get into Vassar ED 1, you have a very low chance of getting into Midd ED 2. This is because Midd is much more selective, and because you have an advantage to Vassar (you’re a male, something they’re lacking in gender ratio) and you don’t for Midd (they have a pretty even gender ratio, and they’re overflowing with caucasians) Midd is also quite selective for ED 2, and I heard that most of the people getting accepted for ED2 are recruited athletes or legacies. Don’t quote me on that though, I’m not entirely sure.

your freshman gpa won’t hurt you at all because you show an upward trend throughout the years  keep it up for senior year!

your ACT is average, as in, it won’t help or break you.

I think you need great teacher recs (the kind that doesn’t say you’re a “good student” but the kind that delves into your personality rather than work ethic) and an insightful fun-read essay to get into Midd. I think you have a great shot for Vassar ED 1 though.
If you want to get into Midd, I suggest you ED 1. But since it’s not your first choice, don’t :P

lol i just noticed how your username doesn’t match up to your post hahaha

Thank you so much middlover!! I really appreciate it. Yesterday I was just really nervous about how I probably won’t get into Vassar and stuff and looking for a second choice…which I love Middlebury but I think its less realistic than Vassar for me. And yes, I know my username does not match where I really want to go, I made it before I discovered the amazingness that is Vassar :P. Thanks again!

iwantwesleyan - first, EDII decisions have passed so I don’t understand your post. Second, saw your same post on the Colby site saying that Colby is your second choice behind Vassar. So, which is your actual second choice, Middlebury or Colby?

^^^Looks like he’s a junior now.

Well, and he’s also posted the same thing on Hamilton, Wesleyan, Colgate, BC, and Colby because they’re all apparently “awesome” too. He’s also interested in Cornell (although, it’s apparently not “awesome”). But, if that doesn’t work out he’s already considering transferring to Columbia - although, I’m not sure whether that’s “awesome”.

Oh he’s just a crazy, mixed up kid…Seriously, agree w/ Middlover.

I don’t think his freshman year killed him, but his junior year is-93-94 isn’t gonna cut it for Midd with his other stats. he would have to be more seriously awesome himself to have a good chance.
