Chance me for Middlebury

Hey guys, I’m currently a junior and Middlebury is really the only school i’ve put serious thought into. If you can Chance me, or suggest any other schools I could get into that would be awesome thanks. P.S. I’ve also put some thought into Georgetown (I know its a reach) only because I have ties with somebody who is somewhat influential there(And it has a great foreign service program).

My school is a major feeder to Middlebury and georgetown. We sent like over ten kids to georgetown last year and like 5 to middle bury.

I plan on applying ED to middle bury and visiting it twice as well as visiting georgetown once

-My guidance counselor I also expect an excellent essay. She described me as one of the hardest working students she has ever had.
-My college essay will be about how my experiences in an affluent town next to a notoriously violent and poor town has sparked my interest in government. (Coworkers deported, Witnessed acts of racism, etc.) and I am a very good writer. I am very critical of my own writing and will not send in anything less than excellent

Again, IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR SCHOOLS THAT MIGHT FIT WELL WITH ME PLEASE LET ME KNOW

I think you’re probably going to want to look at the Ivies and NESCACS, as well as colleges down south like William and Mary, Duke, etc. Those are all reaches for anyone, though. If you don’t mind my asking, what are some of the contests you have participated in?

These contests are almost all related to my interest in Government, and a few in language (As well as one or two randoms). For example, the last contest I did was an essay and speech on Freedom of Speech. I think I really good job on that, all my friends said my speech gave them chills haha. And right before that I wrote an essay about the American Spirit from colonial time and how it is relevant today. Right now I’m working on a foreign policy for Honduras for a contest. I don’t want to be a pest but could you chance me at Middlebury, Geogetown, and each of those other schools you named . Thanks

Rejected Middlebury and GT. You have a B+ average and very low test scores for these kinds of schools. You are below the 25%, and the spots below the 25% are for URM, heavy donors, athletes, etc. If you got a 2100 and expressed a lot of interest you would have a much better shot.

don’t you think two visits shows a lot of interests. And I haven’t actually taken my SAT yet, I was just saying that was the minimum score I wanted on my first try. Thanks

The GPA and SAT scores will be killer if you don’t get them up- I’m sorry, I think it’s a reach unless you’re special (athlete, rich kid, etc.)

Also I pulled 1900 out of a hat… I was under the impression that was a pretty good score but I guess not. What do you think I would need to get on my SAT? Also my guidance counselor says she thinks I will do better on ACT

I think it depends on your SAT score, so try to get about 2100. Also, try to take the SAT subject tests in US History and Spanish.

good call, I think I could get at least high 700s if not 800 on both of them

For Middlebury, 1900 puts you just below the 25th percentile. It’s not too bad, but you should aim higher. Your GPA is what will hurt you. Middlebury is the 7th ranked liberal arts college in the nation. You need to be above 90.

@CaliCash @olivia237 @dvgbhs @thinkingtoohard Thanks everybody, does anybody have any suggestions for other schools? thanks
