Chance me for Middlebury

Hey guys, I’m currently a junior and Middlebury is really the only school i’ve put serious thought into. If you can Chance me, or suggest any other schools I could get into that would be awesome thanks. P.S. I’ve also put some thought into Georgetown (I know its a reach) only because I have ties with somebody who is somewhat influential there(And it has a great foreign service program).

My school is a major feeder to Middlebury and georgetown. We sent like over ten kids to georgetown last year and like 5 to middle bury.

I plan on applying ED to middle bury and visiting it twice as well as visiting georgetown once

-My guidance counselor I also expect an excellent essay. She described me as one of the hardest working students she has ever had.
-My college essay will be about how my experiences in an affluent town next to a notoriously violent and poor town has sparked my interest in government. (Coworkers deported, Witnessed acts of racism, etc.) and I am a very good writer. I am very critical of my own writing and will not send in anything less than excellent

-Hook- Respected Professor (been there over 20 years) at middlebury is writing a recommendation to his “close friends” at admissions*

Again, IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR SCHOOLS THAT MIGHT FIT WELL WITH ME PLEASE LET ME KNOW

bump

P.S. I’m already on the road to getting that gap up, I’m aiming to finish with a 94 average for the year

How do you know this prof at Mbury? Did you work with him on a project? Or is he an old family friend?

If it’s the latter suggest you avoid, as this screams of nepotism. Tends to piss off the adcoms.

Your ECs are pretty good actually and should stand on their own without the help of a big name.

@sgopal2 It is a little mis of both friend and merit. He said he has done it twice before and both students got in so I don’t think admissions really has a problem with it

You have the right kind of ECs and interests for either college. You would be positioned better if you had a 92 average and strong test scores. At this point your GPA can still go up and you can show an upward trend but your curriculum is pretty set. ACT consider Studypoint or another intense tutoring program. If you can score a 32 or higher it will help a lot. 34 would be even better. 2000 on SAT is not high enough as a target

Ok if the professor at Middlebury has some basis for his letter then it carries a lot more weight. I agree with @wje9164be. Shoot for at least 2100 on SATs or 34 for ACT.
