You will get into at least one of the above schools.

do you think my CR score is too low for ivies?
English is my 3rd language, so CR passages were extremely hard for me… ><

^ I think that is a very good reason for not doing better on your CR. And I know both MIT and cornell are pretty science-y (I don’t really know about the three last names you listed, so they may be as well), so they probably wouldn’t put too much stress on the CR reading portion. I feel like you would be accepted in at least one of the top-tier schools from which you haven’t yet heard.

Congrats on the schools where you are already accepted, and good luck!

thanks Ethist and Dreaminapples for chancing me!

another question- would my cello activities give my application a “hook” in any way?
I submitted both an audio CD of my cello playing, and also an art portfolio (it wasn’t bad, but not amazing either)

edit: just to give you an idea- here’s a sample: http://i54.■■■■■■■.com/2jeog03.jpg

Northwestern’s weakest program is actually engineering (But in comparison to other schools, its program is still phenomenal). Despite Engineering, Northwestern has an amazing medical program and communication program. Its theater program is internationally praised, and its journalism program is the best in the nation. And it has a great campus. :P

I don’t know what the strong point of Oberlin and Rochester are, but either way, I think that they’re way under the level of the OP’s potential. Speaking of OP…

I think that you have a solid shot at all of them. But you don’t want to overdo your application. A music supplement may be nice, but it won’t help you that much. However, an art portfolio is completely unnecessary and a waste of time in the eyes of the admission offices. And although your musical feats are phenomenal, it doesn’t really pass for a hook. But your talent and devotion to music is held in high regards, and the fact that you were accepted in to the All State program is going to give you a nice boost.
