alright read out my whole story and gimme some honest opinions and suggestions...and i'll def help you guys in return by doing the same lol...

i graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2008...i majored in electrical engineering and did my senior concentration in signal processing...my GPA was a 3.2 i think...most of my semesters were amazing except for two of them which were just terrible...one of them i just overloaded, and the other one was sort of a combination of overloading and life problems...

after graduation, i found a job as an electrical engineer at an engineering firm...we do engineering consulting work for nuclear power plants...basically i'm working in the power industry and i've learned a decent amount from the job...been workin there for almost two years now and will be close to 3 years by the time i plan to start grad school...

i also recently took the FE exam and i THINK i passed it (if not i'll just take it again and get it next time for sure)...so hopefully that'll work for me too...

i plan on starting grad school Fall 2011...most probably full time...i'm gonna apply to RPI (where i went), WPI (my safety), and MIT (my reach)...

i would LOVE to get into MIT...RPI would be great too...but RPI has only a top notch undergrad program...their grad program is decent, but not as good IMO...

i'm also trying to figure out whether to do it in electric power (my work area), or signal processing (what i went to school for)...and i work in the Boston area so if i do it part time i'd just do it at WPI (MIT part time just doesn't sound right to me)...

i haven't taken the GREs yet but i know i can get a perfect score on the math (back in HS i got an 800 on the SAT math...and the GREs seem equally easy)...verbal i HOPE to get something in the 600s haha...

so in summary...here are my credentials...

BS in electrical engineering with a concentration in signal processing from RPI (usually regarded as a top tier tech school / engineering program)...GPA was 3.2

Will have worked for 3 years as an electrical engineering in the power field (at a company founded a long long time ago by MIT grads no less)

Will have had my FE Exam done...

At RPI, my ECs were that i was on the track team for two years, and the football team for two years...i was also a Teacher's Assistant (TA) for a CAD / Drafting Class, and later on for an Electromagnetics Class

GREs don't know yet...but a perfect score on the math should be pretty easy to get...verbal i'm hoping to get in the 600s...700s would be even better...but i'll be conservative here haha...

so gimme my chances for MIT...tell me if the part time option at WPI is good...and also tell me which masters concentration sounds better...signals or power...to me, both seem to have their positives and negatives at this point...

Thanks!!
