Chance me for MIT + other reputable Comp Sci schools + advice

I am a sophomore at a fairly competitive highschool. My GPA is currently a 3.8, because I didn't do too well last semester. Last year I took honors classes and I could have taken AP Human Geography, but chose not to since I wanted my first year of highschool to be bearable. Also, last year was my first year in which I could have been in Gifted classes, but I chose not to for the aforementioned reasons. Ended last year with a 94% grade average and a 3.9, I think.

These were my grades for last semester(fall 2013):
MASTERY CHORAL ENSEMBLE - 99
Took Language arts for this year over the summer and got a 90 both semesters
ACCELERATED GEOMETRY CC GIFTED - 80
HONORS SPANISH II - 90
AP WORLD HISTORY -100(90 natural)
AP COMPUTER SCIENCE - 95(85 natural)

As you can see I could have done much better in Spanish, math, chem, and LA. Math was hard, but I'm working harder this semester for an A, ditto for chemistry.

Next year I will be taking:
APUSH
AP Physics I(new at my school, basically the first semester of ap physics b(not sure)??)
Gifted Language Arts
Gifted(agreed with my teacher if i do well this semester, honors otherwise) Int. Precalculus
Chorus
Peer Leading*
Spanish 3 - online

*Peer leading is a class that I had to apply and attend an interview for so getting in is somewhat an accomplishment. I'll be doing various things such as peer mediation, helping freshman, tutoring, helping at cluster elementary/middle schools. After looking around here, I've been thinking that maybe I should drop this and do AP Psych, though I really don't want to do that.

ECs: Vex robotics, beta club, reader's rally, will be doing volunteering at library this summer, tri m honor society, play piano/sing at my church every Sunday

In the future hopefully: snhs, nhs, sga(for sure), spanish national honor society.....that's it I think

Sports: I tried out for my school's soccer team this year and last year and didn't make it. This year I would have made JV, but I hadn't played during the fall season, because of finances/transportation. I was going to play another rec season this spring, but I would probably do well in track. I love soccer, but at most I can only make the team next year(probs JV) and senior year (varsity). Track is more feasible, but I'm not sure if I should/want to do it or not.

Extra: all state chorus(9,10, hopefully 11,12), African immigrant, first generation, though my father went to a two year bible school in ghana so idk, low income...i think that's it

I am also thinking about self studying AP Psych and maaaaaaaaybe AP Enviromental Science this year, should I?

PSAT(reading, math, writing): Freshman - 59, 45, 66; Sophomore - 55, 51, 58
Yeah, this year has been hard, cannot believe I did worse lol

Thank you for reading this!

a

There is no way to chance you without SAT scores, and your PSAT scores will need to improve considerably. It is too early. Come back in a year.
