alright, just finished chancing goldmind and hockeydude664!

Great chances at UCB
Soild chances at Cornell

…

I think your quantitative stats are very strong, especially your ACT. Your Math II is fine but for your science SAT II’s I’d suggest also taking chem or physics, I know NU’s HPME suggests 1 but I think showing a strong background in multiple science disciplines wouldn’t help. In regards of your EC’s it seems thatyou are dedicated to the sciences but you’re only excelling at a state level which people have critiqued me as “not prestigious” enough. I’d just suggest that when you apply that you clarify which of these specific teams or experiences have been most influential, not just spewing out every competition you’ve ever attended. With all that said, I’d also like to say that you are the better version of me -.- I’m like you operating on a 70% day cause I’m just 70% of everything you do haha.

HYPS are reaches for everyone in the sense that I can’t say with convction that you’ll get in but you are a very strong candidate. Columbia, UPenn, CalTech, MIT are high matches/low reaches for you. Cornell, Duke, UChicago and UCB are matches for you. Are you considering applying ED/EA anywhere? And do you have any safeties? Best of luck!

Chance me back?

@hopes2b

really, i think what’s holding you back is your standardized test scores…

your ECs are solid, and you gpa is good (but not great unfortunately )

the largest red flag i can see is the standardized test scores, and you’ll want to aim higher than 2000 if you want to go to penn!

other than that, good luck!!

alright, just finished chancing beavisionary and hopes2b!

Great EC’s, how do you have time for all that? I would say All Ivies are reaches(duh) except cornell. I don’t want to be a downer but I will throw out that you may be rejected by penn then either H/Y/C. MIT mid reach along with CAltech and Stanford. IN at UC, Chicago and Duke very low reach.

thank you so much for chancing me; i’m chancing back right now!

So yea, I hope this gives you confidence during the admissions office but if there was such thing as a shoe-in for these schools it would be you. But they are all pretty unpredictable and we can never know exactly what they’re looking for so go in with an open mind. :)

Chance back please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1360777-chances-hyps-urm.html

Numbers-wise it seems like you have everything perfectly in place, as well as an extensive list of awards and leadership positions to back you up in the ECs. I don’t think the low AP scores will make much of a difference, if at all, in the admissions process. The only place they’ll hurt you is if you were planning on getting credit for them, it seems.

If you’ve got the scores and the ECs, I think it all comes down to the essay, since you’ll probably receive the top-notch recommendation letters given your school activity Best of luck, you are extremely qualified, at least in my opinion, and keep working hard!

I think you deffinetly have a solid chance of getting in but keep in mind that it’s not all about the stats; the essays and the recommendation letters play a vital part in all of this so make sure to tell an honest and compelling story and you should be ok :)

alright! chancing back right now; thank you for your replies!!

OK, just finished chancing kchen13 and schoolgirl1023!

bump bump!!

I think you have a great chance man… It’s always a tossup for everyone, so its the luck of the draw… I hope you get in!!

I agree, you do have a very strong application. However, all of those schools are a reach for everyone, so I cannot be sure when I tell you that you have a good chance, but your rank is outstanding and leadership positions are very impressive, so I would say you have a shot for most of them!
Best of luck!

You have a strong GPA, strong test scores, and strong EC’s. You have a really good shot at all schools, but when it comes to HYPSM its all about luck.

Please chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1363526-please-chance-me-recommend-schools.html

thank you so much everyone! sorry for the late replies; i’ve been out of town for a few weeks!

chancing back now!
