I’m in honors English, that is super competitive to get into. I am going to be the debate Research Assistant (senior year, I am a junior), I did debate for two years. I intern for a vet. I work as a horse trainer in the summer, and I was a camp counselor for a couple years. I helped plan the March for our lives protest in my school, and am an active member of young democrats. I am a part of Mu Alpha Theta (which an organization that tutors kids in math), and I tutor part-time. I am also a part of the GSA and Feminist club.
My daughter is attending there and also got a 2 on AP Chem, so that one blemish won’t kill your chances.
Your EC’s were somewhat similar, and she took 8 AP’s, 3.85 UW, and 4.25 W GPA.
She got 1450 on her SAT. If you get closer to 1400 SAT, 32 ACT, I would say your chances are very good. Below that, it’s going to be close unless you are full pay. As of today, it’s to close to call, Most students leave out a very important factor, are you applying for financial aid? At similar schools it can make the difference.
Hello! I’m a recently admitted student and I’d say you look pretty good as compared to my application. I had a 3.81 GPA UW and a 1330 SAT and received a Leadership Award from MHC.
I can only speak for myself, but I think creating a general direction for your app will really establish why Moho wants you rather than people with similar stats and ECs. One piece of advice that I was offered in my college application process was that you want the admissions officers to be able to call you something like the “animal-loving debate researcher,” something to make you somewhat memorable (as memorable as one can be in a large pool of applicants).
Mount Holyoke reviews holistically, so even if you can’t improve your ACT, with the proper demonstrated interest, good ECs, and an well-written and unique essay, I don’t think you should worry.
Hey! I’m also a recent admit. I had a 3.8 GPA UW, 1470 SAT, and was accepted with a Leadership Award. Although stats aren’t everything, I definitely think you’re likely to be accepted- given a good essay!
