<p>So what do you think? Is there ANY chance at all?</p>
<p>You are on the varsity swim team, how fast are you? Stanford is a Division 1 team. If you have the stats to swim on their team then you have a shot of getting accepted.</p>
<p>I think many kids from small towns without a lot of academic competition don’t come to understand what it takes to get into very top schools like Stanford. Schools like this have an average SAT score of about 2200. While they might give you a break coming from a school with 1 AP, it won’t be a several hundred point break. And if your schools sends very few to top colleges, they would expect you to be at the very top of your class.</p>
<p>There are many great schools where you would have a shot. If you want to go out of state look at some where your sores are solidly at their 50th percentile or better.</p>
<p>Stanford is a High Reach for you, for the same reasons as the above poster’s.</p>
<p>Take a look at Tufts University in MA. They have a holistic application process that i think you will benefit greatly from. Check out the thread that I have posted below. In it an admissions counselor from talks about how they review applications based on geographic factors. </p>
