Chance me for my schools please! Smart kid, average gpa.

I have a 3.28 GPA at the end of sophomore year. I received one C each of my first two years. A 79 in honors English freshman year, and a 73 in honors algebra 2 my sophomore (largely due to a horrible teacher but I completely understand that this is ABSOLUTELY NOT an excuse) all my other grades are b's b+'s and usually 2 a's every year. However junior year I have been doing very well. The rigor of my courses isn't as strong as my sophomore year but that 73 really drew me away from taking honors. I'm in regular Pre-Calc and currently have a 98 after three symmesters plan on finishing with a 97 or so.

Junior year grades
Spanish 4-1: 88
Pre-Calculus-1: 98
English-1: 94
World History-Honors: 86
Earth Sci-AP: 80
Business: 90
(Yes business is weighted like any other five credit course.)

Schools considering:
Boston College (first choice; very big stretch)
Chapman
U of San Diego
Loyola marymount and Maryland
Santa Clara
St. Joseph's in PA
Rollins
Flagler
UC Irvine
Marist
Villanova (big stretch also. Sibling currently attends idk if they consider that)

Boston College is where I really want to go. I know of a girl from my school who had a 2.99 and 1450 sat and got accepted because her grandfather donated big bucks (just under $1million I heard). I attend a fairly good to above average public high school in an affluent suburb with little to no diversity.

BTW how much higher would you project my gpa to raise if these were my final grades for junior year?

get the honors rank

Test scores?

Took sat’s October of junior year with no prep or studying. 520 math 480 writing 430 reading. 1450 overall. This is much lower than I expected so I took a prep course and have a tutor for the English portion and ill be taking the next test in June as well as the ACT. I’m hoping to do well on the ACT as its a different format that i think suits me better than the sat. Never really been good at standardized tests

That SAT is simply not on par with that school. I know many students from my school with 4.4s and 2200s rejected. I still think you should apply, but if you even want a glimpse of hope, you need to get that SAT above 2k. Otherwise you are really just writing essays and applying for nothing. Take the ACT too, some people do much better on it. Good luck!

I’m not very familiar with with the schools you have listed, but I would definitely suggest trying the ACT. My ACT score was much higher than what my PSAT predicted my SAT would be. Also, make sure that you make your essays outstanding to Boston College and really show interest if you are determined to go. Good luck!

Updated stats: 3.40 gpa (recalculated after junior year was completed). Just got my SAT scores back today. 1710 overall. 530 CR. 570 W. and 610 M. btw no longer considering flagler, rollins, or santa clara. Had an interview with chapman, I at least think it went pretty well, however it is all a big blur considering how nervous I was

Chapman is a bit of a reach, but not impossible. A lot depends on your intended major.

im applying for political science. I currently am employed by my local government in our town hall, and I used all that work related experience to express my interest in my major. I figured it wasn’t a very popular, or at least competitive major there, but im not sure

Look at the BC factbook (page 32).
The middle 50% SAT range for last year’s admitted freshman was 1960-2150.
