Colgate: Reach (legacy does not hold that much weight, although it does make it reachable)</p>

<p>thanks Catria. Thats great news as i previously had U rich and Lafayette as a reach and American as a high match. Also, i was under the impression that legacy met a lot at colgate. thank you for your input. Anyone else?</p>

<p>The only two I’m familiar with on the list are American and Lehigh (I used to live right near Lehigh). I’m going to be honest, that UW and even the weighted seems a little weak for both, especially American. And I’d try to crack 2k for the SAT. But you seem like you’re on the right track and you do have a shot at both if you work hard.</p>

<p>It seems like your GPA would be acceptable, but it depends when you got your lower marks. Were your B/C’s in freshman or sophmore year? If so, then they’re forgiviable if you brought them up to straight or almost straight a’s. Just write a strong essay and try retaking the SAT’s for a higher score, use study books like Baron’s to get a good feel for the question types and I garuntee you will get a higher score, just knowing that information helps you a lot.

<p>i got a 4.1 weighted average junior year. 3.7 uw. i did worst in freshman and sophmore year. definitely an upward trend.</p>

<p>lafayette is a great and reachable school and so is lehigh. the double legacy for colgate will really help.</p>
