Great. But this is not a fortune teller forum, although it is close.

I know, the app just godamn shut down on me while I was typing -__-

Interning for local test labs(UL) Currently
Did the Northwestern Center for Talent Development during summer before 9th and 10th grade.

That’s about it…

Great academic achievement. Your EC is a bit weak for top schools though. Can you elaborate a little bit on your intern and highlight some EC that shows your passion on something? Try to blend that into your essay. I think that would be the last thing you need to add to your credential. If you can make your EC looks more spectacular, you would have good chance in any.

UCB: Almost Safety

Others: Reach to High Reach (Asian), Low Reach to High Reach (White)

thanks so far! :)

What are you planning to study in college? and possibly do for a living?

Your academics are as flawless as they come! Well done. I do agree that your ECs are a little weak but you obviously will flesh them out more on your app than you are doing so on here. Do you have any varsity letters or anything like that, or any sort of leadership in your 3-4 years doing cross country/track? That would help a lot.

MIT - low reach/reach
Yale - reach
Columbia - reach
UC Berkeley - match
CalTech - low reach/reach
UChicago - reach
Harvard - reach

Chance Back?
[Please Chance for Penn, Chicago, NYU and Columbia!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1526000-please-chance-penn-chicago-nyu-columbia-will-chance-back.html)

I plan to double major (seeing as I’m able to handle a heavy workload) in Chemical Engineering and American Government and Politics.

I’ve been captain of the Cross Country team since last year, UCB is my “safety” so to speak school, my first choice school would be Yale/MIT.

That was why I asked the question…since Chicago does not have an engineering school… whereas Stanford and Princeton both have top notch engineering and government studies…it makes more sense to add Stanford and Princeton and consider dropping Chicago…

…for that matter, I don’t understand why you are applying to MIT and Caltech as well…since they are not known for liberal arts/government…

Well I do see your point, but Engineering is my first priority.
Thanks for your suggestion, and I will research those schools today!

If you ask anybody in the know…if engineering is your first priority…Stanford and MIT are tops in the country if not the world…but Stanford also is tops in most other humanities/liberal arts programs as well…MIT is not…

I think this combination of strengths that Stanford has is why so many students want to go to Stanford and why it is the toughest school to get into…

Your AI is a 239.5, so that is incredibly competitive. I would say you have a very good chance of getting into everything except Yale and Harvard. For those, you will have to show some sort of strong passion in your EC’s. If you’re wondering what could possibly be missing from your application, maybe being a musician? That obviously isn’t within reach at this point, but overall you have a pretty good chance even at HYPES. Chance me?

I played the Sax from 5th to 10th grade but I wasn’t amazing, so that rules that out.

I also am considering Princeton and Stanford now, after doing some research. I will have to think this over a lot more but I may take UChicago off my list and add Stanford and Princeton based on location, quality of majors, and overall fit (I did the College Search thing on this site and had a very good match with Princeton (97% fit) and Stanford (96% fit).
