Hello! I would love it if someone could let me know if I have a chance at being admitted to Newhouse, which is where i applied ED for Television, Radio, and Film. I go to a very competitive public school out-of-state in the Northeast. Here are my stats!
GPA: 4.13 W 3.5 UW
ACT: 30
Classes: I have taken 8 honors classes (not including art honors and chorus honors) and 5 AP classes throughout my high school career, including AP Language and Composition (junior, scored a 4), AP Literature, AP Environmental Science, AP Government, and AP Studio Art. I have taken honors art for the past three years, and I am now taking AP Art as a senior.

A part of the school’s theater company all four years, have done a variety of different tasks including:
4 years in the publicity department, a head of publicity this year, nominated for two regional awards. (320 hours each year)
Cast in the shows for 3 different productions, anticipating to be cast this following Spring in the musical as well (400 hours each production)
Director of a one-act play (416 hours)
Honor roll all four years
3 letters of recommendation, each very personal, and one very strong counselor rec.
Very strong, original essays.
Visited campus twice, went to class with a current student, interviewed on-campus, took an individual tour of Newhouse.
Received a school award for academics in 11th grade along with having my art displayed at an inter-district art show all four years.
I’m a little concerned because of my lack of community service (I have done plenty, it has just been slightly randomized so I don’t have an organization to put down) and also I am not in NHS, even thought I have the qualifications. Syracuse is my dream school, and I understand Newhouse is crazy competitive-- I would love to know your thoughts on my chances, and I wish everyone who applied to Syracuse good luck during this stressful time!
