what do you all think? be completely honest, i can take it =)

(i used this model form the michigan threads)

regular decision obviously!

bump bump bump

please someone answer! =/

I think you're in. :)

hey finally an answer!

anbd boy do i hope youre right! first choice!
if only it wasnt so expensive!

Nice. Which program do you hope to major in?

I know! College is so expensive these days. :/

You seem very well-rounded, and certainly a great candidate, but I'll tell you what they told me.
Newhouse has tons of 4.0 applicants, so they tend to look more at fit and personality than anything. Make sure your essays and reccs are fantastic, and Newhouse is certainly a plausible goal.

i read newhouse accepts only about 8.6% of applicants ??!??!?!?!?!?!

WHAT?

do you all still think i have ANY chance?

ugh im so worried! =/

oh and i want to do broadcast journalism!

ALSO, does it hurt me if i dont do an interview?

i cant really make it up there...

i think ur in, SU isnt rediculously competitive for its great education

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/623727-chances-would-appreciated-chances-back.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/623727-chances-would-appreciated-chances-back.html</a></p>

i go to a small private school in central mass. (we dont rank but our curriculum is very rigorous)
my gpa (uw) has been a solid 3.45 but i have taken 5 AP classes. my ACT is a 27 (one sitting) and my combined SAT is a 1930.

ECs:
-started an international micro finance organization in 9th grade
-head of that club in my school
-head of C.A.R.E (Children's Art and Recreation Experience)= saturday mornings with mentally and physically handicapped children
-Var. Tennis 4 years (cpt. jr and sr)
-swim team for 6 years
-Var. soccer 2 years
-Student Activities Board Representative 3 years

if i applied to newhouse as a first choice but college of arts and sciences as my second choice. they say that if i am not accepted to newhouse then i am grouped into the other applicant pool if they have room. i am nervous that they wont and i will not be able to attend SU at all! has that ever happened?

collegecrazy: start another chance thread; don't hijack this one.......

I thought they had cut the size of admits into Newhouse, taking fewer applicants. As an SU alum I do read all that snail mail they bombard you with. Beware! I don't feel that the College of Arts & Sciences is that competitive. I was in College of Arts & Sciences. My major is now under the Maxwell School & so I get mail from Arts & Sciences, the Maxwell School & all the other alumni stuff.

One thing I have noted is that their financial aid statistics are not that good, so if that is an issue another school may come up with a better offer!

Good luck to all of you! I bleed Orange, at least that is what D#1 tells me-she is a UCONN alum!

SLUMOM: hope you're not watching the bball game....it's ugly right now.....

Oh, Rodney, I was watching the SU-Georgetown game, I turned it off & walked away!
Sometimes I have to do that.
