Chance Me for Northwestern 2022 :-)

Hello, I applied to Northwestern for early decision a couple weeks ago and just wanted some outside opinions since results will be coming out in about a month. I love NU so much and am super anxious to get back my application status.

Asian Female
Applied for Dual Degree in Engineering and Communications
Not low income, not first gen college student, not single parent household, not national merit semifinalist, no legacy
US public school student (not Illinois)

GPA: 4.252 (Weighted)
SAT: 1530 with 770 in Math and 760 in English (one sitting)
Subject Test: 790 in Math 2, waiting for November Chem results to come out on Friday
Ranking: n/a (my county doesn’t rank their students)
6 AP Classes during my sophomore and junior years: World History, Language & Composition, BC Calculus, Micro/Macro, US History, Chemistry
Senior Year Courseload (not too many AP’s, but kind of STEM focused): STEM Engineering, AP Comparative & US Government, Physics HN (counselor would not let me skip to AP), AP Literature, Advanced Band, AP Computer Science A, Multivariable Calculus & Linear Algebra (1 semester each, currently talking multi, did not do dual enrollment cause expensive)

Teacher Recs: Counselor doesn’t know me very well but that’s because I go to a large public school. I also submitted 3 teacher recommendations (teachers that knew me well and liked me) all of which I’m hoping will give good perspective as to who I am.
Essays: Don’t know if they will particularly stand out, but the CommonApp was very me and was based around how I’m a fun and outgoing person, and my Why Northwestern essay was pretty specific- I mentioned a lab that Northwestern engineers often work with as well as two extracurriculars I am very interested in relating to music/dance and engineering/business
Interview: I got the email from Northwestern saying I could sign up for an interview but I totally missed that in my inbox so I never signed up. :frowning:

you sound like you have a pretty good chance! i think a wide variety of ECs is a good thing to have because it shows your interests in different areas.

Honestly you have a pretty decent shot. I’m a student at NU right now for reference. School of Comm isn’t too popular so it’s a bit easier to get in but McCormick is really hard. Honestly NU looks for things that make you distinct over grades and you have a really good pedigree. Good luck and I hope to see you next year!
