I probably have more stuff to add, but can't think everything on spot.

Thanks for your inputs in advance :)

Man, you just need MUN to get in there. Besides, why don’t you think about Berklee or UNT?
Anyway, your chances are high, with a good-looking essay you’re definitely in!

What is MUN ? And UNT?

Thanks

And BUMP !

Being in a private prep school will hurt unless you are ranked highly. But improve your scores, write killer essays, and you will have a chance. It’s almost impossible to predict Ivy’s these days so just focus and don’t let others deter you

Standardized test scores could afford to be a little bit higher. You don’t want to have to rely on essays or EC’s to get you in. Other than that, looking pretty good.

Both are big reaches.

The scores are low for both schools. Columbia is a super reach at this point. Northwestern is still a high reach.

Northwestern places a premium on interest shown. If you just apply and not show any interest, they will reject.

Your best bet is Northwestern ED if you want to go to one of those schools. If you really like NU, your chances aren’t high enough at Columbia that it would be worth passing up the ED advantage you’d get at NU.

thanks for your inputs. im gonna study sat all summer to get my reading ad writing grades up . im aiming for ~2200 on the sat. what else should i do to at least have high chance for ED Northwestern?

Apply to Columbia, I will be going there for the fall! Try to improve that reading score though but make sure you focus on something that shows passion and write an amazing essay  Good luck!

when is the northwestern ED Deadline usually?

November 1
