Chance me for Northwestern, Duke, Cornell, Penn, and Stanford

Hey guys,

I’m a freshman looking to transfer for academic reasons.

  • GPA: 3.75 at a Top 15 School - econ major. Basically a peer school to some of the above.
  • HS GPA 3.81
  • Hook: URM

Test Scores

  • ACT 34 (35 superscored)
  • SAT Subject Tests 780, 780, 740
  • AP Tests: 15 total (Ten 5’s, Two 4’s, Three 3’s)

Campus Involvement

  • Leadership positions in four campus organizations (President, Vice President, executive board member x2 - primarily business related), past leadership in three campus organizations from dual-enrollment at a university in high school
  • Two research positions (one fall semester, another spring semester)
  • Honors Program (very selective, ~3% acceptance rate)
  • Three honors societies (first year honor societies and the honor fraternity)
  • I’m also involved in several other campus organizations related to business and cultural diversity

Miscellaneous

  • I’ll be interning at a very large bank this summer (think Citi, Bank of America, etc.)
  • I’ve had 4 previous internships (2 investment banks, technology internship, and had another non-business internship)
  • One letter of rec will be really strong, the other generic
  • Invited to a lot of diversity forums and programs at top banks and consulting firms
  • National Merit Scholar, National Hispanic Scholar, National AP Scholar, quizbowl and science awards from HS
  • I also had three research positions from high school (again dual enrollment)
  • Essays should be strong. I actually worked for a college admissions consulting firm…

Please be as honest as possible. Will chance back!

Thanks!

Are you trying to transfer to the business schools at the ones that have them? Or econ only?

Yes, I’ll be trying for their business schools

I think you have a really good shot. Obviously, Stanford and Wharton are very difficult, but I think you have a good chance there. I think you have a great shot at Northwestern, Duke and Cornell
