I think you’ll get in. Your ACT’s and your strength of curriculum are good but your ECs are a little weak along with your GPA for Northwestern. Whats your essay going to be on? Did you take the SAT?

Thanks for the reply:) I’ve been told by various people (people who look at college essays for a job and peers) that my essays are really good…my sat scores are not “send worthy” when compared to my ACT score

I think your stats are pretty solid You might want to make your extra curriculars more personal/stand out though, by writing solid essays. Since you said your essays are good, this shouldn’t be a problem :)

Are you saying that I should talk about my ECs in my essays? This was kind of a super rough list…I’m sure it’ll sound more personal when I talk about it in my common app…thank you so much for the advice though:)

It’s a senior ap English class…I think the two that are offered at our school is AP major British writers and ap religious quest…it’s more of a philosophy class than a religious class though

Well, you don’t necessarily have to talk about your ECs in your essays-afterall, northwestern’s supplement only ask for “Why NU?” For lack of better words, I just can’t tell if you have a special focus or passion in a particular topic, or if a certain area is your passion–do you know what I mean?

Yeah I definitely understand what you’re trying to say. Most of my ECs deal with leadership and teaching underclassman what it means to be a leader. So I guess I would say that’s my focus. But I’ll definitely emphasize that point and make it more of a common thread throughout my application. Thank you again for your input…it’s really helping me out :)

@1whatsmyname1 Hi I’m applying to weinberg as an International Studies major. No problem! Good luck with the rest of your application process:)

I think you have a good shot at getting in. You have a great ACT score and a good GPA and ECs. EDing will definitely help, and as long as your essays make you stand out more, you have great chances. Good luck!

I think you can get in. Your EC’s while not flashy like other kids still mean a lot and are great because of the Northwestern programs and the internship. Your ACT scores are on point. Your GPA is low (UW) but its great Weighted and your class schedule compensates for this. All in all, write a great essay and you should get in.

Christie, get off this site and find a better way to waste your time. Otherwise, I think your chances of living a life surrounded by cats are very high.
