I also consider myself to be a strong writer, so I am hoping that my essays will carry me a little bit. I also think I am going to get pretty good teacher/counselor recommendations.

You’re a very strong candidate! Northwestern would be a low match for you with those SAT scores and EC’s. Your GPA is a bit low, but not too low. You should have a fair chance of getting in.

You should definitely send in an art supplement if not too late, or provide a Vimeo link on your application. It would make you stand out. I am not sure what major you are shooting for, but make sure your application is consistent with respect to your interest in your major.

Unfortunately, Northwestern doesn’t accept arts supplements :’( So I will just have to convey my passion through my NW supplement… Also i intend to major in Communication Studies if I get in! However, I also want to minor in Theatre and I’m going to explain this in my NW supplement

I’m not sure if I should call their music department anyway just to show my interest?
What do you guys think?

An aspiring communications major who wishes northwestern would allow arts supplements? Hell maybe I’ll see you there! Also, my recs conveyed my television aspirations excellently, so if you get a teacher rec, get one from a teacher who really likes you AND appreciates your artistic side

Low match? with an 18% acceptance rate? lol
sorry to burst your bubble. You are well qualified but thousands of kids apply with 3.8+ and 2250+s…You art and dance will make you stand out, but you will need stellar essays…

You’re not bursting my bubble! I didn’t think that NW was a low match for me at all I’m really banking on my essays to help me out… And you said low reach/high match (ED), but I am applying regular decision :/
