What is your class rank or approximate decile?

what is your state? u first gen for college in your family?

we don’t rank, but top 10% for sure
NY, no

Great chance statistically, and your ECs seem solid enough… Good luck! :)

I think you have a realistic chance, but I think your EC’s are just average-- several clubs that don’t take a whole lot of time or commitment. Your stats ARE really solid, however. Good luck in the RD round!

Thank you! I also have a bunch of other extra curriculars, but they are much more specific–aiming to accomplish a specific goal or complete a task. But I don’t stress them much in my application because I’m not sure how well colleges would receive them. On paper, they sound very … not interesting and very … blah. So, if it helps I have those as well.

I think theres a good chance but not for sure. Everything sounds good except your gpa could be a little higher. I’d say like 68% chance, because there is not that really pops out as different from everyone else. Good luck!

Am I getting this right?Northwestern supplement can be sent “within 2 weeks of January 2 deadline(Jan 2 being deadline for the commonapp part)”??Does it really mean supplement deadline is around Jan 15 or so?But on commapp, the supplement deadline shows up as Jan 1.Does anyone know for a fact what the ‘real’ deadline is for supplement?
Quoting from their website:
“Northwestern’s regular decision deadline is January 2. The Common Application should be submitted by this date. We will accept all other required materials, including the Northwestern Supplement, within two weeks of the deadline.”

You’re in.

I got accepted ED and I was soo nervous about my GPA.
I had a 3.6 unweighted (with all honors/AP classes of course).

If you need any other advice or opinions, PM me (:

Good luck!

I think you have a decent chance but your ECs don’t really show your passion. If you can, try to put a focus on one or two activities that are really important to you. Just having a leadership role or many hours doesn’t really mean much.

I think you’re in. My extracurriculars were kind of spotty as well.
Being Asian helps when applying to NU because we’re still a minority. (~19%)

@averby, “being Asian helps” is the first remark I have ever heard of about the admission chances at any top college. Though 19% may be slightly less than some other schools for Asian population, it is still quite high and it does not mean that there are less Asian applicants. It just means there are less being picked, which on the other hand, could mean that it is harder for an Asian to get into NU.

I’m also wondering about the supplement thing. I interpreted it like you did…but I’m not so sure.

Any other chances?

You’re a competitve applicant at Northwestern. Your test scores and ECs seem good. Make sure you do well on your essays and get good teacher reccomendations and you have a very good chance although it’s not guaranteed. Good luck

Thank you! I believe that my essays came out very well, and I’m positive that my recommendations did as well.
