There is another person my school applying ED that I know of, but she is not applying to McCormick. I assume that my counselor rec and teacher rec were also fine. My essays were fine aside from a misspelling of the name of a residential college in the Why NU. I am a lurker on the forums so I have collected a rather large collection of college research tools, and my Why NU was rather specific. I had some scheduling issues with taking Linear Algebra as PSEO, which is why I only have 3 APs. In general my school isn't very competitive; it's not ranked by USNews, even within the state. Will the rest of my application be able to overcome this?

If you’re performing well in the context of your situation, i.e. you took the most rigorous courses that were offered you’ll be fine. If your school only offers certain APs, and you took the majority of them, you’ll be fine (Linear Algebra is more rigorous than a lot of APs). But, you’re well within the top 5% of your class, excellent testing, and solid ECs. I think you definitely have a good chance.

Misspelling? You’re screwed

afflux --

Your statistics are competitive for Northwestern. Aside from that, no one can really say. I would definitely recommend applying.

Do you have a safety? (or are accepted elsewhere)

I wonder how often Iowa turns up at NWU; if it doesn’t show up often at NWU then you have a better shot than if NWU had a lot of kids from Iowa.

Definitely reachable (high match if NWU doesn’t have many kids from Iowa)
