Chance me for Northwestern University?

I'm a rising senior from Wisconsin. White male from 60k family income. Gpa is 3.8 or 3.9 unweighted. 4.0 weighted. Currently #2 in my class of 65, but I may fall to #3. (Valedictorian has a solid chance at HYP) I wont have AP classes other than calculus and European History. I go to a small Lutheran school so my options are limited. I have as rigorous a schedule as I can. It's not 100% the most difficult possible but that's due to scheduling conflicts. I scored a 35 on my ACT.

Ive played varsity football since my sophomore year, and will most likely be a captain this year. I was on our FIRST robotics team this year. Im in NHS and will be president of my schools chapter next year. I've been involved in student council years and will be the student body treasurer. I was selected to participate in Badger Boys State.(American Legion leadership program. Don't know how much weight this carries) I also work 20 hours a week during school if that matters.Full time in the summer.

What are my chances at Northwestern? I will apply ED. I plan on majoring in engineering or computer science. UW Madison, UM Twin Cities, Carleton College, and Grinnell College would be my other favorites.

Hi! Your gpa looks pretty solid, and I know that Northwestern loves athletes so try to play that up on your application. An essay on your extracurricular involvement, probably robotics, would be helpful because otherwise it doesn’t look as though you were as involved as other qualified applicants. Good luck!

I think you had a good chance for ED Northwestern. Your act score is great, but you should consider taking the SAT 2 for physics since you’re interested in an engineering or CS major. Also, try doing more things that relate to your major for ECs.
Good luck, please chance back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1672761-chance-me-for-stanford-university.html

I know I dont seem super involved, but again with the small school, there simply isn’t as much to be involved in. Robotics is quite a commitment with a 6 week build season thats as much time as a sport, a 3 day tournament, and fund raising events through out the year.

Bump

Very good chance, I’d say like 75% if you apply ED, and like 60% if you apply RD!

this community never fails to impress…good good chances. write some solid essays and you’re set.

I think the students out there heavily researching colleges also happen to be the most qualified. Thanks for chancing me!

Bump. Computer science can be done at NW in Weinberg college of engineering or the McCormick college of the arts and sciences. Is one of them easier to get into?

Your stats are great and you have some nice ECs, so I think you definitely have a good shot at Northwestern. Applying ED would only better your chances, which I would do for sure if you’re set on Northwestern. I would qualify your other schools as:
UW Madison (safety), UM Twin Cities (safety), Carleton College (match), and Grinnell College (match)

Best of luck!
