I think you have a really good chance for ED Northwestern. Try to stand out with your essays. If you can, take some community college courses in subjects that interest you. you might want to take an SAT II Physics btw. I really like your ACT score! I say you have a great chance for grinnell and carleton as well!
Chance me back?

The admission rate for NU was 12.9% last year. When I checked for my D’s chance at Parchment with slightly better stat than you last year, it gave her a 50% chance. She applied to McCormick RD and got accepted. I think you should have a decent chance but likely below 50% as the admission rate is keep going lower. UMN-TC should be low match and UWisc is a safety for you, both my D also applied and was accepted too. Just wondering why you do not have UMich and Purdue on the list. Those are the top engineering schools in the mid-west.
For NU, try to express your interest. My D submitted score to them in Junior and visited the campus in the Summer before senior. The campus visit really help my D to write an essay about the school. Also, having great SAT2 scores may help.

I think you have a good shot.

Thanks for you input guys! Billcsho, I did tour northwestern last month and I’m signed up to receive information from them.
Purdue and UMich aren’t on my list because I would pay sticker price there. As a Wisconsin resident, I would receive instate tuition at Madison and U of M Twin Cities. Minnesota and iowa are the only states Wisconsin has reciprocity with. I also want to avoid a giant school. Madison and U of M are big, but they’re not my top choice.
Edit: I double checked my chances on Parchment and it says 52%.

Actually you may be able to get merit aid from Purdue. Your stat is near the threshold for the Presidential Scholarship. Also, they may offer you another merit scholarship with need component. These together may bring down the cost almost by half. UMich is much tougher to get financial aid as oos.
By the way, how is your National Merit status? UMN-TC offer great scholarships to NMF.

I was not a NMF unfortunately.
