Chance Me for Northwestern?

I've just finished my junior year, so of course I'm starting to think about colleges! The only one I've looked at that I'm nervous about getting into is Northwestern in Illinois.

So here are my stats:
ACT: 35 (36A, 36R, 34E, 34M)
GPA: 4.07 weighted, 3.98 unweighted (I got an A- in one semester of APUSH and one semester of Physics)
My school only offers one AP class that is actually taught by a staff member, language. I took Apush online last year and am going to take AP bio and maybe psych or stats next year. I've definitely taken the hardest classes offered at my school.
Class rank: 1 of 50 (I go to a small public school in South Dakota)
ECs (when I graduate I will have):
11 years of dance
4 years Meals on Wheels
4 years colorguard (Co-founder, captain/choreographer for two years. We routinely get perfect scores at local competitions)
4 years band (bass clarinet)
2.5 years choir (2 time all-state delegate)
Senior class vice president
4 years quiz bowl (captain for one year)
2 summers volunteering at Sioux Falls zoo, about 85 hours each summer)
3 years drama (president for two years, lead in 4 plays, student director for one)
3 years varsity football cheerleading
5 summers at University of South Dakota's summer music camp
2 years National Honors Society

Awards
I won at the state level for a reading challenge
Outstanding actor awards at regional and state levels
I was on the hall of fame for or anatomy class (scores above 85% on every single lab, quiz and test)
We've gotten second place in our conference twice for quiz bowl

I've been told I can write a great essay
There might be more, but that's all I can think of right now.

So if you can chance me at Northwestern, and maybe give me a couple of other ideas for colleges I could get into, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Is the 36A in ACT score actually 36S?
You do qualify for Northwestern. So give it a try. The overall acceptance rate is pretty low but your chance should be above average applicants.

Yeah, the 36A should be 36S. Oops!
Thanks for your opinion!

Not sure what this neans, but… Bump?

You would be applying with good chances. A 35 looks excellent, plus you only have two A-'s, which means stunningly good grades. E.C.'s look good, and you clearly have a passion for dancing. I do see community service and the like. Other E.C.'s seem a bit scattered, but none of it really looks like padding. If those who tell you that you can write are correct, and your have good essays, I’d put Northwestern as a Low Reach. They do have a 13% or so acceptance rate, so even a low reach puts you in better standing than most.

NWU: Reach (ED can make it a high match given you come from an under-represented state)

Debater, I thought my ECs showed that I was passionate about the arts.
Im having a really hard time choosing an essay topic, any advice there?

Isn’t color guard dancing? I’m not necessarily sure what it is, but I thought it had to do with dancing. But more broadly, I guess that the arts would be an applicable term. Yeah, write about your passion for that. The rest of what I said still stands.

Okay, thank you for your help.

Northwestern would be a match. You have excellent stats and ECs, and I would recommend that you apply to some Ivies (Brown, Dartmouth, UPenn, and Cornell are in your range) and other excellent schools like Duke, Johns Hopkins, WashU St Louis, and UChicago
