You’re reaching slightly. Maybe if you had family that went there you would be OK but you gotta raise that GPA up. The only reason you’re not completely reaching is because you have that family situation. One more semester of a 3.9+ could probably give you a good chance.

But you sure you want to go there? You’ll have to suffer more last minute defeats to Michigan in the future :P

I think you’ve got a pretty good shot at it, it may be a low reach because your GPA may be a bit low but you have a pretty legitimate chance of getting in, congrats!

As an actual student at ND and not just some cc high school kid who know nothing like the above posts, ND is definitely a reach with you stats. ND look at the reading and math sections only of the SAT for admissions, and they will use the writing portion if it HELPS you. This puts you at 1340 which is far below the average from last year (1440ish). Your AP scores and subject tests will hurt you considering most accepted students exceed you scores by far. You extracurriculars are OK but ND is a highly athletic school and they really like to see a well-rounded student that has athletic experience (80% of students played on varsity sports teams in HS and 40% were captains). Sorry but I do not think you will get in, but good luck. Don’t listen to people like lexieam who have no idea what they are talking about.
