Your SAT and GPA are certainly where they need to be. I again hesitate to call anyone a “lock”, because locks simply don’t exist. Allow me to caution you: students with your SAT scores usually apply to NU and all of its peers. Therefore, you need to show NU admissions why you will attend if accepted. Otherwise, you run the risk of admissions assuming you have no interest in actually attending.

Also, your ability to pay does not matter. NU is a need-blind institution, so admissions officers do not know your financial status. This is certainly helpful to make admissions more meritocratic.

You’re highly competitive. Your work in a refugee camp for North Koreans is extremely interesting and relevant.

I’m not sure how your ability to pay might affect your chances. Even though NU is need-blind, they might still be able to guess what your SES is from looking at your parents’ occupations/where you live and this could affect them subliminally (give you a boost, though they’re probably trained to counter this).

Okay you obviously don’t know a lot about NU since you called it NW and said you are a prospective business major…

Yeah, I think I saw that you had many chance threads in several different universities so you probably aren’t set on Northwestern. It will be difficult to convey your interest in the university because you have your sights set on other universities.
