Chance Me for NYU CAS ED!

Hello all,
I’m a rising senior from Houston looking to apply to NYU’s College of Arts and Sciences (looking at politics) Early Decision during the upcoming school year. I’d like to know what my chances are of getting in and (perheps more importantly) what my chances of recieving some form of scholarship might be. Below are my extracurriculars and my academic history:

GPA:

  • 9th grade Weighted GPA: 89.17
  • 10th grade Weighted GPA: 88.58
  • 11th grade Weighted GPA: 89.71
  • Weighted Cumulative GPA: 89.15
    (100-pt scale)

Classes:

  • 8th grade: 3 HS level courses
  • 9th grade: 2 Honors, 4 on-level courses
  • 10th grade: 5 Honors, 1 on-level
  • 11th grade: 2.5 Avanced, 2.5 Honors, 1 on-level (switched one honors course to advanced after 1st semester)

AP Exams:

  • 10th grade: World History (4)
  • 11th grade: English language and Composition (4), Physics 1 (4), US History (4), Computer Science Principles (no score yet)
  • 12th grade: I intend to take the Spanish, Statistics, and Economics AP exams (possibly also United States Government and Politics and Environmental Science exams — I don’t want to overwork myself)

Standardized Tests:
ACT: 30
SAT: 1440 (I plan to take it at least once more)

Extracurriculars/Other:

  • I speak Hebrew (conversationally/fluentl)y, Spanish (proficiently), and am teaching myself French
  • I took 2 for-credit courses at Cornell University in the summer after 10th grade: Argumentation and Debate (A) and Political Theory (B+)
    -I Am currently taking two for-credit courses at NYU (summer after 11th grade): National Security and Human Society and Culture
  • Volunteered at local hospitals and old-age homes as well as at community gardens and parks.
  • Cross Country: 9th-12th grades, team captain 11th and 12th grades
  • Track and Field: 9th-12th grades, team captain 11th, 12th grades
  • Junior Statesman of America - School chapter VP (10th grade), President (12th grade)
  • Habitat for Humanity school chapter founder and president (11th, 12th grades)
  • Organized, ran, and spoke at a rally/march for a political cause which was attended by 200+ people. Handled the sound system, media outreach (print, televion, and radio); testified before a Texas State Senate Select committee; formed an organization of high school students to organize and run more political events locally.
  • Volunteering with a campaign for US congress leading up to the 2018 midterm elections

Note: I was born outside the United States and I come from a single-parent household that was severely affected by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

I would say with ED, you have a 6/10 chance of getting in, but:

  • GPA and test scores can be better, but they're within the ballpark range
  • take the HARDEST classes senior year, do not hold back
  • Your resume is quite generic for a politics student, not bad but no real jewels either
  • Essay is gonna be either your ticket in or what cripples your app

As far as scholarships, maybe a few loans, but realistically they’re not going to give much aid unless they consider you an asset to the school. Also, chances drastically change depending on ethnicity/race/socioeconomic background
