I really want to get into NYU (NOT STERN), but I'm very lazy-smart. I just realized what college is, and now am scared if I even have a chance for my dream school. I'm currently a junior and am Asian. Can you chance me please?

SAT: (2 tests) 2280 superscore
GPA: 3.16 (there's the lazy part LOL. I go to a pretty good public school though I guess. This is unweighted my weighted is 3.18)

SAT II: 800 in Math II and 660 Lit.

Taken Ap's: AP World (3)

Ap's taken right now: Ap Lang, Ap US

AP's I'm going to take: AP Calc AB, Ap Eco, AP Lit, Ap Comp Sci

I play varsity tennis. Play viola in the orchestra and have done Piano NYSSMA (a New York thing, 3 years of level 6 all 90+)

I have legacy 2 siblings all graduated NYU. Also 2 legacy cousins who also graduated NYU.

I want to apply ED

As you can see, I have half-assed my high school classes a lot and want to know if NYU is still reachable or not despite high SAT. If it's not, can you post some matches for me please? Thanks.

I would say you have a chance if you write a very good essay perhaps explaining how you made high school productive for you in some sort of fashion. Perhaps, you can talk about one of your passions listed above? I would predict if you apply ED, it will be a high match for you or a reach. Other suggestions for you could be

Boston University (High Match)
Northeastern University (High Match)
University of Massachusetts Amherst (Match)
Syracuse (High Safety)

No chance you don’t have 2400.

Try NCC it might be a reach though

chance me i’ll chance back

I would say that you have to have great extracurriculars and of course an impressive essay to compensate for your GPA. You certainly are a bright student, but it’s evident that you can be lazy. I recommend that you try and persuade (perhaps indirectly) the admissions officers at NYU that you can actually be very efficient and productive, because I don’t think any school likes to have a student who has little incentive to do well in school. I would say it all depends on your extracurriculars and heavily on your essay and writing supplements. Do your best and I say high match/low reach. Good luck.
