Chance me for NYU CAS

I've already applied, but I want a little idea of if I had a chance anyways. Of course, I've applied to schools other than this! Occidental College, BU, Fordham, CUNY Hunter, CUNY Queens, CUNY City College, VCU, Mary Washington, and William & Mary are my other colleges.

I go to a pretty highly ranked majority-minority public school that Barack Obama has visited twice, if that means anything.

Ethnicity: White
Location: Northern Virginia
Gender: Male
Major: Art History/Physics double major, registered as Art History major
Rank: Not exactly sure, definitely top 25% and probably top 20%

GPA: 3.4 UW, 3.7 W (I know, I know), weighted GPA only includes 1 quality point for AP, nothing for honors. IDK if that's normal, but that's how my school does it so I figure that's how most do it.
SAT: 2110, 1390 M+V, 720 CR, 670 M, 720 W
SAT II: 710 Math 1, 640 Lit, 620 U.S. History
AP Tests: Art History (4), US History (3), English Lang (5), Music Theory (5t)
Pending AP Tests: Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, U.S. Gov, English Lit, Calc AB

Academic Classes
9: English 9 Honors, Algebra II, Biology Honors, World History Honors, Technology
10: AP Art History, English 10 Honors, Chemistry, Math Analysis, French I
11: AP US History, AP Music Theory, AP English Lang, Earth Space Honors, Precalculus, French II
12: AP Calculus AB, AP English Lit, AP U.S. Gov, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism

EC's
Tenor section leader of Wakefield Madrigals
Got in District XII Choir 9, 10, 11, and 12
VMEA Honors Choir - most competitive choir in the state, only open to seniors, first person from my school to get in in the last 10 years
I went to the Vocal Arts camp at JMU.
I was Judas in Godspell freshman year, a storyteller in Once On This Island sophomore year, Bob McCord in The Marriage of Miss Hollywood in King Neptune junior year, and Monsieur d'Arque in Beauty & the Beast Junior Year, rehearsals for all of these were monday-thursday three hours after school for about 3 months each. Very labor intensive and time consuming.
Once On This Island got nominated for 7 cappie awards including Best Musical, so I performed (along with the cast) at the Kennedy Center for the Cappies gala
I was a Teen Apprentice at the Levine School of Music
I've played piano for 13 years, superior at the NVMEA festival for 8 years in a row (every time I've participated)
I was the musical director for Runaways my junior year
I was in Mindset, which was a Capital Fringe Festival show, very positive reviews and featured in the Huffington Post as a "Capital Fringe" pick.
I was a founding member of the Gay-Straight Alliance my sophomore year, I am gay myself
I swam Varsity swim team sophomore year

Notable Things:
Huge upward trend at junior year and senior year, it's my freshman and sophomore year that are bringing me down.
My recommendations are from my AP Art History and my AP Physics teacher, which have been the two classes I've tried the hardest in. I waived my right to see them so I don't know how the recommendations are, but I've heard both teachers write VERY good recommendations, also those are my prospective majors so i felt like they fit.
I assume my essays are really strong, I've always been a good writer, hence the 5 on AP english.
If it counts for anything, I was the French II Student of the Year, and I got the "Princpal's Honor Roll" my junior year.

So, do I have a chance?

I think you’re in.

Thank you! I hope I am too.

I think you are very qualified and the upward trend is a positive. I almost expected you to apply to Tisch rather than Art History or Physics! Good luck.

Low Match, Low Reach. Good Ecs. Gpa is pretty bad. However, if previous students from your school have applied to NYU with similar GPA, then NYU may consider your school to be GPA Deflated. ECs are solid. Test scores average. Try to maybe bump Sat by 30-50 points.

Thank you very much, both of you! One person applied last year that I know of, to Steinhardt for music education, she didn’t get in and she had a 3.0 UW, 3.5 W I think. My freshman year, my friend got into Tisch, and she had similar stats. Those are the only two I know of, so they might think that.

I won’t have time to take the SAT again, but thank you again!

Good luck, happy to help!

Does anyone else have an opinion?
