STATS:

SAT highest single sitting: 2090 (1450 M+R)
Superscore: 2200 (not sure if going to use superscore*)
GPA: my school doesn't do unweighted but about 98.5 weighted
I go to a competitive, NYC specialized school

*I scored a 1960 on my first SAT (610M, 600R, 750W) and 2090 on my second (730M, 720R, 640 W). My dilemma is since some schools superscore, I was thinking of sending both so that my superscore is 2200, however, my M&R for the first test is pretty embarrassing and despite superscore I'm afraid that they'll see the low M&R and that will negatively effect my chances...any ideas?

SCHOOLS: NYU Stern, Cornell (early decision), Macaulay Baruch

You’ve a solid shot at Stern, but I’m afraid I don’t know enough about Macaulay Baruch to comment. Cornell is a reach(as is the case with all Ivies), but your stats are strong so I’ll call it at a low reach. What about your essays, letters of recommendation and subject tests?

PS: Chance me back please http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1572592-columbia-ed-top-state-schools-ea-chance-international.html

I feel silly for forgetting to include that haha:

Subject Tests
Math I - 710 (yeah I screwed up)
US History - 750

Essays are pretty solid
Letters of recommendation: one is good and the other should be amazing

& thanks! I’ll chance back :)

The Math I curve is really brutal, so 710 isn’t horrible per se. But yeah, could definitely be better. Still, I reckon you have as good a shot at Cornell as any other highly competitive applicant.

Definitely use your superscore. They pretty much only look at the highest score and most admissions officers know it can be a some days good other days bad type thing. You would be hurting yourself for Cornell to not do that.

Honestly your AP course-load and extracurriculars are kinda lacking. I don’t think this is a problem with NYU, but it might hamper you with Cornell.

All right! It was mainly NYU I was concerned about w/ superscore since Cornell requires all scores anyway!
Thanks guys :-)
