Hey guys I’m in a bit of dilemma here. I am a rising senior and the time has come to apply to colleges. I am a fairly decent student and I really want to go to a good school.
My stats are an unweighted GPA of 3. 43 and weighted GPA of 3.89. I will have taken 12 AP courses by the end of senior year. I would have done a lot better in high school but I had a lot of personal problems. I tore my meniscus my Freshman year and it took me a year of recovery for that then immediately after I had a double concussion in my sophomore year. In my junior year I was able to do extremely well and get great grades and I’m looking forward to a great senior year. My SAT super score (I took it 3 times) is Math: 730 Reading: 640 Writing: 660 w/ 8 essay. Total Sat is 2030. SAT Math level 2 = 770. I am taking the act in september and will get probably a 32 or 33. I am also taking the spanish subject test and chemistry subject and am expecting in the 750-770 range for those.

I want to apply early to either Carnegie Mellon for school of fine arts or NYU for Steinhardt (school of culture/human development).
I want to know which I have a better shot at of getting in. Also I know CMU is more generous with financial aid so that plays a factor as well, but there would be no point of applying if I cant get in.
Any comments are welcome, thank you.
