<p>NYU is my dream school, it has been since 7th grade.
I want to get into the journalism program possible to go as far as get my masters there.
I go to an international american school in Costa Rica.
I am almost halfway through my Junior year</p>
<p>As of now my GPA is somewhere around a 3.4-3.8</p>
<p>I got a 1590 on my october SAT score which is not very good,
I got a 9 on my essay and a 610 on my writing
which isnt great but im going to start getting SAT prep and im retaking it in may. </p>
<p>I have played varsity school basketball from 9th-11th grade
student government in both 9th and 11th grade
taking 2 AP courses this year, AP environmental science and English writing an composition, have As in both of them
took AP spanish literature in 10th grade
i did a foreign exchange to canada for 6 months in my sophomore year
leadership course in 10th grade
dance club in 9th grade
lead roles in community plays 9th-11th grade
Ill have outstanding letters of recommendation
and theres a few other extracurricular activities and such</p>
<p>I really really really want to get NYU and I'd do anything to do so</p>
<p>what do you recommend I do this year and next to better my chances?
a killer essay, higher sat scores, more extracurricular things, join National Honors society?
ANY ideas would help me. </p>
<p>Oh also I'm 1/16 Cherokee indian, should I put that on my application to better my chances as well?</p>
<p>any advice comments or criticism?</p>
