<p>some background: nyu isnt the only school i applied to but its definitely my top choice</p>
<p>i'm currently a high school senior from connecticut. i am a male of half indian (asian) and half european descent. my class rank is 18 out of 190 and my gpa is currently a 3.44 out of 4 but it is improving and at worst should be a 3.53 by the end of the year. on the SATs i scored a 2100 (750 CR, 700 W, 650 M) and on the SAT subject tests i got a 730 on Bio E and a 710 on Literature. i applied to the CAS for journalism and am the editor in chief of the school newspaper. i supplied two articles that i have written in my sophomore and junior years and i feel that they were both fairly solid. also my essay was original (it is an extended metaphor comparing my life so far to a skyscraper under construction) i have work experience (full time at a summer camp, part time at friendly's restaurant), i have volunteer hours (51 at a local hospital, 6 weeks at 40 hours a week at a local summer camp before i got hired), i am a member of the French National Honor Society, i have taken 6 AP classes (Stats, Bio, and English last year and Calc, Comp. Gov., and French V this year) and so far 2 AP exams (4 on Stats, 5 on English). I played football for three years and did track for one year. I was nominated for National Honor Society but wasn't accepted because there were some issues with the paperwork. </p>
<p>also, i dont know if this is important but NYU has sent me their student newsletter...is that a good sign??</p>

<p>oh other schools i applied to include UConn, Fordham, Columbia and Harvard. I know i have no chance of getting into the ivies but i applied to harvard because they mailed me an application haha. if you could chance me at the other schools, it would also be appreciated</p>

<p>3.44 weighted? That’s definitely your weak point. Get that up to the 3.53 and I’d say it’s a match/high match though.</p>
<p>well to be honest, i think the gpas for my school are all off, we are required to take certain classes which only contribute a max of 3.0 to your gpa…i think nyu knows that though because the average accepted gpa from my school is only 3.5 when compared to the usual 3.6+</p>
