Chance me for NYU? Puhhhh-lease :3

NYU is like the only school that, I feel would, truly liberate me. I've been growing up an a less than advantageous town: Elizabeth, NJ. And I'm a hispanic girl (hoping these factors play a role in their decision process!) I applied ED I because I heard it significantly boosts chances of admission, plus I'm very boarderline -_-

SAT's I: CR: 640 M: 580 W: 620 (Superscored, tried to bring up Math but got the SAME score twice -____-)
SAT's II: 610 Literaure 660 U.S. History
AP's: 4 Eng. Lang., 4 U.S. History, 5 Spanish Lang. (AP Scholar)
AP's this year? - Lit., Cal., Bio., Art History (Sent a transcript w all A's in 8])
GPA: 3.8003 Weighted, ranked top 5% of class.

EC's:
-Treasurer of City wide Key Club (National Org.)
-Editor In Cheif of School Paper (for 2 years, as long as its been running)
-Vice President of Green Team (Associated w Groundworks Elizabeth, a city wide org.)
-"Honor" in the National Forensics League
-Class Representative for my School's Student Gov
-National Honors Society
-JV/Varsity Volleyball for Sophomoe and Junior year
-Volunteer at the Animal Shelter
-Model at Abercrombie & Fitch

Essay?
-Did "topic of my choice." I was super creative and wrote about Stuart Little and reinventing a family unit.

-Short Answers: Strong, I mentioned my hispanic-ness :]

ALSO I was accepted to NYU Precollege, but couldnt go cus I couldnt pay for it :l (I included that!)

I applied for CAS in Journalism and wish to double major in poly sci. I'm scared because its the only school I want to go to :/ Help?

If I am not mistaken NYU let you submit 3 AP test instated of a standardized test. It might be to your adv. to look into it.

But the third AP would have to be non-language ^

Yes, I know that ^ But do you guys have any idea on my admissions chance?

What is your UW GPA? That’s what is important here (weighted is nice but it doesn’t mean much). Your SAT scores are a decent amount under the NYU average but your AP scores are pretty impressive. Your ECs are great – especially so for your major.

I applied to CAS ED1 for Journalism as well (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1240598-ea-ed-apps-chance-me-nyu-northeastern-uconn-will-chance-back.html</a>) so I don’t feel too fit chancing you but I’d say it’s a low reach. ED and being an URM will help… you have a chance but it’s really up in the air.

I’d love to see us both get in! Good luck.

You have a shot because you are an URM, but your scores are low.

Overall, reach.

Wait, how are you going to afford NYU now? Hopefully you didn’t apply ED without being able to pay in full as NYU, as you know, has terrible aid!

I’ve lined up several scholarships, I attained alot of them because I’m a hispanic female. So, yeah.

Ended up getting in, btw.

Congratulations man! Just out of curiosity, what was your unweighted GPA? I am considering NYU. Thanks!
