Chance me for NYU Stern please?

Hey guys I'm wondering what my chances are for the Stern business school. Should I bump it down to CAS Economics or keep it as Stern? Please help!

Standardized Testing:
-SAT 1: 2340 (800 CR; 790 Math; 750 Writing)
-SAT 2: Math 2 (800); Physics (800); Chemistry (740); US History (710)
-PSAT: National Merit Scholar Contestant(?) I don't really know what I got.
-AP Scholar With distinction. Will be national AP scholar after this year, hopefully...

Academics:
-GPA: 4.1 (weighted); 3.92 (unweighted)
-AP Courses: Calc AB(5); Calc BC(5); Physics (4); Macro(4); Micro(4); Language(4)
-Currently taking two AP courses and one Syracuse University class.

EC:
-Designed & created website for 2013 Congressional Election. Published articles on it based on interviews with various congressmen/senator candidates.
-Lax and cross country. (our school isn't good...so not state level)
-Created another website/club concerning driving and texting. Principal recently approved of pledges for students to sign to not drive and text.
-Paid internship at a law firm; attorney gave me a recommendation as well.
-Volunteered for boys scouts of Korea. Went to Korea twice in summers to help elderly in rural areas.

Awards:
-Presidential Volunteer Service Award: Gold Level
-Commendation from two congressmen and one state senator.
-Won the council of economic education video challenge.
-Stock market game-state level contestant

One of my two recommendations is really really good.
Essay was strong; a Columbia uni literature professor read it and revised.

I'm asian so that's my biggest concern I guess. Plus it's Stern so..I know the competition is rough.

And would you guys also tell me my chances for Cornell CAS?

I’m not sure about Cornell, but for Stern I think you have a decent shot. Your test scores are pretty good, especially math, which is great for B-School. I’d say don’t be too concerned over your race. As long as you have the leadership qualities and innovative ability (which is evidenced), you’ll be a great candidate.

Good luck!

Thanks fauresonata! Yeah I’m really worried about Stern. Cornell I’d say is a reach but I would like Stern to be a high match for me!

You should apply to Stern instead of CAS Economics. Your stats are right in line with Stern students but with a schools like Stern you never really know.

Also, I’d say Cornell would be easier to get into than Stern. A recurring theme at least in my year was that most Stern studens also got into Cornell.

High Match - Cornell
Low Reach - Stern
