I'm a sophomore in high school. I plan on majoring in Business, either Economics, or Finance. I want to work as an investment banker. I want to go to Stern. My backups are Fordham, Villanova, TCNJ, and maybe Drexel. There's a few other colleges I'm looking at too, the biggest one being UPenn, but that is a huge stretch.

My credentials:
-About a 3.8 GPA, only rising
-I was in Knowledge Bowl at my old school, and we took second in the regional tournament
-I got a 1560 on the PSATs with no studying or preparation, I got about 85th percentile, which is 1800-1900 on the normal SAT. I hope to bring it up though.
-Writing was my highest SAT score, followed by Math, reading was the lowest.
-I'm a member of the History Club
-If all goes well I will be in NHS next year
-I will be a member of Peer Leadership club next year
-I plan on doing some volunteer work this summer.
-I plan on joining FBLA next year, there were no spots open this year.
-I take all Honors classes, with the exception of Spanish, which will be honors next year.
-I have taken a few AP courses, and plan to take more
-I've got an A in all of my business classes so far
-I'm taking Marketing I next year, Marketing II senior year.
-I'm taking Principals of Accounting, and Principals of Law in High School.

I've moved across the country this past year, and have maintained a perfect GPA at the new school, does that count for anything?

Also, do sports really matter that much? If it's absolutely necessary I might join track or something.

Forgot to mention that I was also in the Engineering Club at my old school.

Aight dude, to be honest that 3.8 looks amazing and if you can keep that or improve it even after taking the crap load of APs in junior year, then it’ll do wonders to your application. But as for right now, that’s kinda all you got!! SAT I and SAT II will be a major factor for admissions. Also, you’ve gotta pick it up on the ECs. As far as I know, being a member of a History Club and a Engineering Club aren’t going to do anything for you when it comes to admissions. Also remember that being a member doesn’t really do crap, you gotta have a leadership role in that club or organization (that leadership position will help you out a lot my friend). Your still a sophomore, so you have a little bit of time to improve your application. Sorry if I seemed to be harsh, but I just wanted to get my point through. Good luck!!!

Bump, can anybody else chance me?

Stern is partial to higher SAT scores, go for a 2100+ and if possible 2250+.

Is there a way that I can be a leader of a club or something upon joining it just next year? Maybe I can be a founder of a club if I propose it to my school or something?

Also-to edit my credentials, I’ve received my report card for this year, all my final/year course grades were A’s/A+s, I only got two B+'s in Geometry, but ended up with an A for the year. And if I’m not mistaken, the way my school works is an A+ brings a B+ up to an A (provided it’s in an honors class). So this year I have a flawless GPA, and I don’t see it getting lower next year.

Lol why are you asking us that? That’s all dependent on you…

I was hoping that some one would have had a similar experience, or would have founded a club.

It all depends on your school. My high school had a really easy way of starting clubs.

Apparently my friend and I are going to join a lot of clubs this year in school just for fun, so I’m guessing we will join some of these: Chess club, Living History Club, we might do Bowling or golf, ping pong club, school ambassadors, R.E.B.E.L. (Anti-Tobacco movement). This works out good for me because it will pad my college app, and I will have fun with my friend in the clubs too. I will still be joining FBLA, NHS (If I get in), and I will try to get into Peer Leadership, they kind of screwed me over because the interviews were cancelled and I asked around but wasn’t notified when the rescheduled interviews were, but I will talk to them next school year. I’ll continue to be in History club as well. So even though my ECs were almost nothing Freshman and Sophomore year does that completely negate my chances?
