Chance me for NYU Stern

Stats:
Hi! I am a junior in high school. I have a 30 composite ACT score, I received a 9 out of 12 on the Writing Portion of the ACT, and a a 3.88 GPA (unweighted) 4.14 GPA (weighted). I am ranked #5 out of 144 students in my class.

ECs:
I am the historian of Students Against Destructive Decisions (will most likely be president next year), officer of FCCLA for 2 years (will be Regional President next year) Member of FBLA (will be officer next year), member of many other clubs! I will be studying abroad in Japan this summer. I received a superior (I) rating at the MSHAA State Solo and Ensemble in the Male Vocal Solo Category. All District Choir Member for two years, all State Candidate for one year. Lastly, I was the State Champion in the Impromptu Speaking Senior Category last year.

Please tell me if I should be able to get into NYU Stern as a marketing major, I will be applying ED.

Stern will be a reach, even with ED.

I think you are a good candidate, but its still a reach. For sure apply ED. If possible, try the ACT again. I’m sure Stern pays close attention to math scores, so make sure thats good. If you want to include supplemental information try taking some SAT subject tests (like Math II if thats your strong suit). Best of luck.

It’s not too far of a reach! I think you have a great shot, especially with ED. But with the admissions rates and such, make sure to really shine through with your essays! Since there is no interview, the essays are the only way the adcom can know more about you as a person. Good luck!

applying as a marketing major may since most people will apply to Stern for a finance major but I’m not sure how much they consider that.
