Current freshman at Macaulay honors college in NYC trying to apply to NYU CAS for chemistry
GPA: 3.8
SAT: 1450
Reasons for transferring: nyu’s chemistry department offers a lot of chemistry extracurriculars that I want to be part of, and nyu offers korean language and a lot of korean history courses (obviously i talk about this in more detail in my essays).

College Extracurriculars:
Chem TA (I teach recitation)
Student lounge volunteer
Hospital volunteer
Jazz Band

High School Extracurriculars:
Receptionist/employee at podiatry clinic
Drummer for jazz band, chamber music, and school plays
Music Honor Society
Cancer research junior year

I haven’t submitted yet but I think I might wanna change the extracurriculars I’ll include.

I can’t chance you, but have a few questions:

Did you apply to NYU last year (as a senior in HS)?

Do you have financial constraints? (there’s not much FA for transfers at NYU)

No, I didn’t apply in high school, and Im not planning on applying for financial aid (I know I won’t get any)

I don’t know your HS record (which will be part of the admission decision), but you’ve done well at Macaulay. If you are certain you want to transfer, obviously you should apply to a safety or two and some target schools as well. Don’t wait until Friday night to get your app in!
