I’m not familiar with Case Western. I think all of the other ones are a reach though except maybe NYU. I know UVA and Michigan are very hard to in OOS. Although you are great candidate, many of the people who get in OOS are top of their class with very good gpas. If you are a junior, I would try to get the best grades possible this year and next to have a better chance.
Please chance me (:

I got into UMich LSA with a 32/2160 but a 3.8 GPA. I’m assuming your excellent SATs will make up for your decent GPA. I was Commended too, and OOS from Illinois. You can definitely get in, just pick up those senior year grades! The other schools are also possible, but I think UVA may be hard to get into…
Message me if you have any questions! :D

Your GPA is a bit low for UMich. You should be a high match to low reach. But do you want to spend $50K per year going there?

Not really, but on that same note, most of the top 30 and even top 40 schools have a tuition of $40k+ / year. Without the book costs…by the way what would you say about case Western (Rank #36 in national unis) and NYU? If UMich is a reach then I’d assume UVA is a reach as well, since both have limited OOS acceptances

You have a good SAT score. You list AMC 3 times as an award, but I’m assuming you didn’t score well enough to qualify for AIME since you didn’t mention that, so not in the top 5%, which is a lot of kids. 92% of UVa students were in top 10% of their hs class. So, unless they want to recruit you for track, I think your chances are pretty slim for the state schools as an out-of-stater.

last and final bump :)

I have hear Case Western has better financial aids. UMich is know for poor aid to oos students.
