NYU
UCI

UCSC
UCD
UCSD
and maybe USC, I'm not sure yet. Thanks in advance

I know for UCLA and UC Berkeley your weighted GPA is rather low and your SAT score falls below their middle 50% of students. UCR has a 82% acceptance rate (I know because I live 30 mins from it) and I think your good for them. UCI is about 47% acceptance and I think you would be somewhat competitive for them.

bump, chance me please, i’ll chance back!

Come on, anyone? I’m really scared here.

You need to calculate your UC GPA. Then compare your stats here:

[UC Admissions Statistics](http://www.ophs.opusd.k12.ca.us/uc_admissions_statistics.htm)

NYU is a reach, and if you need any financial aid you’re highly unlikely to get it.

anyone else want to comment on my chances into NYU? That’s really my first choice, and I’m probably gonna apply ED.

Uhhh, NYU is gonna be hard. Make sure your essays/recs are outstanding.

NYU - High reach (your SATs are kinda low)
UCI - Reach (Maybe you could get in because you are first generation)
UCR - Match/Safety (Pretty good, better boost your SAT and ECs)
UCSC - Match/Safety
UCD - Reach (same thing with UCI)
UCSD - Reach also

REACH (higher to lower): NYU, UCSD, UCD/UCI
IN: UCR, UCSC

Alright, that doesn’t make me feel good about NYU haha. If I improve my SAT score to above 2000, do you guys think I could make it in? Also, I’m considering USC and Penn State, so maybe those will be easier to get into?

bumpppp, help a fellow scared college applicant out here.

bump, i chance backk!

For NYU a 2000 would put you near the middle so you should try for a 2100
You’d probably be fine for penn state

would the option of me not applying for financial aid heighten my chances for nyu?

for NYU, it depends on which college you’re applying to, and even then, your SAT’s are a bit low. i’m assuming you’re a california resident, so the UC’s are easier to get into, but UC’s are big on numbers. i can see you getting into everywhere but Cal and UCLA (which is where you’re applying). i know NYU’s financial aid sucks, but i’m not sure if not applying for it will help your chances. i’d say if you’re applying to CAS ED (which is what it looks like) i’d say you have a 30% chance. keep in mind 15% are underqualified and 15% are in as soon as they look at your paper, so 30% out of 70% is almost half! good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/775992-chance-stern-nyu.html

actually, i was thinking about applying to stern ED, so would that be more difficult for me?

NYU has no problem accepting and not giving those in need aid. Some colleges just won’t accept those whose need they don’t want to meet.

i would love to say that you have a fair shot, but compared to most of the applicants, your stats are a tad low. your weighted GPA is lower than most applicants unweighed GPA’s. however, ED raises your chances a LOT at Stern NYU b/c most students applying to Wharton, CMU, etc. Stern RD is when it’s hard because they get the rejects from the other business schools (which all have really good stats). ED is easier, but for you it’s still kind of difficult

BTW, how would you guys think i would fare at Boston University, Penn State, and Northeastern?
