Chance me for NYU (Washington Square & Abu Dhabi)? :)

I love NYU(AD) so much, I wanna take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant.
^^ Ya gotta love 30 Rock on NBC! ahah

Anyways, I am a senior in High school now and I have around a 3.25 (or 3.3) GPA UW, currently. My school does not weight GPA. I know it's low, but I won't waste your time with some lousy excuse. But, by the time my high school career is over, I will have taken around 8 AP classes and an infinite number of honors courses. Also, I have taken french for five years. I want to major in International Affairs and Political Science (Pre-Law track). I received a 1770 SAT I score without studying. Now, I have taken a class and plan to retake it in October (my practice SAT scores are 2050!!) and take the ACT/SAT Subject Tests in November. Here are my credentials.

Will I get into NYU New York and/or Abu Dhabi?

Also, I am applying ED to NYU. Is that a good decision? It's my DREAM SCHOOL.

AP SCORES:
AP World History - 3 (:[)
AP US History - 4
AP Psychology - 5
AP English Language & Composition - 4
AP English Literature & Composition
AP US Government & Comparative Politics
AP French Language
AP Statistics

Also, getting reccommendations will be super easy because I am pretty friendly with all of my teachers and the faculty at my school (security guards, guadiance counselors, etc). I have 1 already and it is amazing (woo!)

I guess ethnicity comes into play: I am African American.

Thanks!

unless u can get your sat up to about a 2050 or so, u will have absolutely no chance

What major? The only weak point in your app is your SAT score if you’re not shooting for stern, you might get LSP’d if you apply to CAS though

GPA is a bit low, as are SATs ATM. EC’s are quite good, so if you get the 2050 on the SAT I’d say it’s a low reach for CAS, reach/high reach for Stern.

think it might be better for ya to get the SAT score over 2050…ps: CR higher than 650 would be much more competitive.

Jesus girl…you’re amazing.

By all means take the ACT serious - according to my kids it was easier to deal with and score on - your resume looks awesome and international relations is right up there for them - I think you like a "catch’ for them. My son is there now, in the freshman class. They have a french table once a while for french speakers (his is not very strong.) Good luck!

Your Uw and SAT scores are slightly low for NYU’s standards but you do have a nice involvement/: Retake SATs or mabye ACTs if you think you can to better on those- Next continue with involvement: you seem Volunteer oriented try to get a position in Key Club.

Hey guys,
I’m a NYU student currently studying abroad in Shanghai. I just got home from spring break in the Gobi Desert and Hainan, China’s Hawaii! As the most global program in the world and a permanent site set to open in 2013, NYU Shanghai is one of the most amazing study abroad programs. For our Information Technology class, six of us have kept a blog Chinapocalypse detailing our experiences in China and the differences between American and Chinese culture. The official NYU Shanghai program site can be found here which definitely has all the information you want about going abroad.
If you have any questions, email us at chinapocalypse@gmail.com or me at ryansinshanghai@gmail.com to find out more.

Best of luck,
Ryan
